Shocking scenes in Auckland, TRA pours liquid on KJK

JacquelinePot · 25/03/2023 09:59

I'm not even sure what to say about this, I just find it really shocking.

Baying mobs surrounded the intended event, one got onto the podium and poured red liquid all over KJK and KJK had to be removed amidst a huge crush.

I hope everyone is OK.

Even the intellectual, "I'd never kiss a Tory", theory first GC feminists who'd rather spit than spend any time with Posie (not mentioning any names Jane Clare Jones, Suzanne Moore, Julie Bindel etc) must realise Posie's achieved more in a few days than they have done in several years.
If the sisterhood means anything, the shunners should reflect on this.

As some of them played a role in laying the foundations of the far right/Nazi smear I should imagine they don't want to draw too much attention to themselves.

This could be about any event. She won't be linked to KJK by a key word search from this.

Elsewhere I saw some slopy shoulder retweets. As well as nothing at all in other quarters.

RealityFan · 26/03/2023 22:43

J, he has a real fire within him, absolute ignominy at gay racism being perpetrated by the Stonewall ethos, the gays standing by like window shoppers, and absolute solidarity with women totally compromised by this.
Can you imagine how it feels if the charity/pressure group you formed/built, or relied on over the years, goes onto effectively isolate you, and attacks allies of yours?
I certainly can't.

@MrsOvertonsWindow Have you looked at all the news happening this weekend? Talk about having an insular view.

😂😂
I'm a woman and more than able to cope with a multitude of different issues.

Andrew Doyles brilliant monologue from this evening. I'm in love with Andrew Doyle .. just wish he had a platform on the BBC. It's essential viewing. I wasn't sure where to post it but it should be on here for posterity.

Helen Joyce and Ella Whelan in discussion with Andrew

I'm another whose made a mental note of who signed the Sex Matters letter. I unfollowed Lachlan today as well. Enough is enough. I'm so glad I give to Sex Matters .. they are certainly an effective organisation and apolitical with one focus, women rights in law.

I see the Sunday Night Scolding Shift has arrived. Ignore.

Clymene · 26/03/2023 22:47

I blocked Lachlan. He's just such a silly waving arsehole

Clymene · 26/03/2023 22:47

Silly = willy!

To ask the naysayers:

Definition of Posie Parker

Powerful
Outstanding
Stunning
Inspirational
Enduring

Passionate
Awesome
Rational
Kickass
Extraordinary
Radiant

RR, I think there's a lot of snobbery here. Posie is the working class woman who doesn't give a flying fuck how she comes across, get on board and strap up for the ride, or be a sullen middle class woman on the sidelines fussing about etiquette.
They don't like that she's stolen their thunder, is setting the pace, and is creating the news.
Indeed, in taking energy and headlines from The Lesbian Project, this must be particularly galling to Julie Bindel.
As Helen Joyce laid out in her Substack, it's not a left v right issue anymore, or feminism v femalism etc.
It's science v superstition, civilisation v cult, Enlightenment v magic.
Right now, Posie is the lightning rod that is focussing on the phenomenon, the others with skin in the game need to get with it. Put aside the differences they have on her views on not being a feminist, happy to ally with conservatives, limits on abortion etc.

CarryMeOut · 26/03/2023 22:58

A false dichotomy. Many of her critics are working class and far poorer than Posie.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 26/03/2023 23:01

And many of Posie’s supporters are academics 🤷‍♀️

It’s not easy to discern why the AGCL types think they are so much better than everyone else but they sure do love to engage in a good finger wagging.

Signalbox · 26/03/2023 23:03

AGCL?

ResisterRex · 26/03/2023 23:04

The problem is, those being quiet about this will find the void they are creating, being filled. People who might have donated to a crowdfunder of theirs, or used their case as an example of women being silenced and smeared when writing to their MP, or who bought their book, might think..."hang the fuck on? What? Do you think she deserved it?"

It could become their nightmare question in interviews. Like a certain question is for Labour. It will at least be likely to be posed by any of us at events and conferences, when we get handed the mic.

RealityFan · 26/03/2023 23:04

Ok, stand corrected.
Well, then the movement will be multi stranded.
Intellectual heft of Kath Stock and Helen Joyce.
Poetry and empathy of Eliza Mondegreen. Political activism of Julie Bindel.
Media exposure of Janice Turner, Suzanne Moore, Jo Bartosch, Victoria Smith etc.
Street fighting of Posie Parker.

Very true. Julia Long and Sheila Jeffries both published academics and middle class are close supporters.

Not sure what's more terrifying:Totalitarian mob siding with repeated punching of 70 year old woman (pictured) thinking they are right side of history. Deafening silence of politicians to condemn this violent misogyny (with some in my own party either making light or condoning)

It’s a FB group where self identified feminists say nasty things about KJK & Mumsnetters.

It’s called ‘Actual Gender Critical Left’.

Must be a pretty lonely place. The cognitive dissonance in still thinking the left is the solution to a culture war promoted by the left can't be squared.

Clymene · 26/03/2023 23:10

@Feministwoman Ruth Serwotka of WPUK amplified Billy Bragg's gross tweet to her followers (obviously her account is locked) and said there were legitimate concerns about KJK.

WPUK are so up their own arses that they can't bring themselves to condemn a woman they don't like being assaulted.

As far as I'm concerned, they aren't concerned about women's rights at all or only inasmuch as they don't conflict with their pet men.

They would stand by and watch KJK get trampled to death and say she deserved it because she didn't toe the party line. They're not feminists. They're women who will always put their party politics before women. And women who do that never put women first.

I suspect it’s similar to how Rosie Duffield recently described her experience of the Labour Party - it’s like being in an abusive relationship.

And us pointing out that the Left is a big part of this mess is sort of like when you see a bloke being aggressive towards his girlfriend and so you try and intervene to stop him hurting her and she turns around and starts hitting you in his defence?

Imagine being in the Conservative Party and believing in old-fashioned principles like law and order, careful finance, lowering taxes, and the biggie... conserving things.
You might feel like Rosie does right now, believing in a party that protects women's rights.

The issue is in the news. One woman tour in New Zealand is not big news in the UK. It just isn't.

Sadly this is true. I did not see GBNews and none of these events in NZ are on the BBC or Sky. It's not big news outside of here. Besides, reporting that violence would mean being on the wrong side of history.
