'Front hole'

I was googling info about vaginal HRT tonight and came accross a medical article referring to a 'front hole'. This is apparently a 'gender affirming term' (as opposed to euphemistic three year old speak.)

Cor blimey. "Using language they find comfortable" - if they were self flagellating for relief would you join in to whip them?
Or would you gently ask them to put the whip down?
These young females are debasing themselves, we don't need to help them do it to make them comfortable! We need to gently find a way of genuinely helping them! The first step is recognising debasing language when it is used.

They do know we have TWO holes at the front...right?

Wouldn't a woman's front hole be her urethra?

Exactly

softsweets · 19/03/2023 07:13

I bet trans women won't by happy calling it a 'front hole'! They'll be INSISTING on 'vagina'

Sadly, this shit has been around for a while: twitter.com/TitaniaMcGrath/status/1416347045368107013

Funny how many people don't realise that Titania McGrath is a spoof account. Mad that it's so hard to tell a piss take from reality these days.

I just cringed so hard I'm wearing my back hole as a scarf.

That particular site is aimed at trans and non binary people, who may prefer not to think of themselves as having a vagina. While I dislike the terminology and wouldn't want to see it used more generally, I don't think it's unreasonable to have literature aimed at specific groups using their preferred terms.

I think it's wholly unreasonable to dehumanise women in this appalling way and expect them to be ok with it in case it may wobble the feelings of a very small percentage of the population.

You do not achieve inclusion or diversity by shitting on a different group. And a group that requires you to prove your love and devotion by demonstrating that you will gladly illtreat and extend behaviours towards a lower status group that you would not dream of extending to the high status group you are signalling towards?

You've got a very big problem. Huge. Either we dehumanise everybody and their feelings don't matter, or we don't do it to anybody because it's wrong. Pick one.

It's a medical article - it should use medical terms.

"Preferred terms" is ridiculous. Are we going to have medical research papers referring to "pee-pees", "foofs", "fannies", "willies", "todgers" and "botties" because some people "prefer" them?

It's just pandering to manipulative stupidity.

TheInterceptor · 19/03/2023 07:49

Isn't the frontest hole the urethra? (Not a medic) (Or a grammarian)

Marchforward · 19/03/2023 07:50

eloquent · 19/03/2023 01:20

Even weirder, surely the "front hole" would be the urethra, not the vagina???

I was thinking this, at least very young child say ‘wee hole, baby hole and poo hole’. Actually it’s probably time to make sure the oldest knows the correct terms.

Emotionalsupportviper · 19/03/2023 07:50

GourmetLettuceMix · 19/03/2023 01:35

This trans health website considers "front hole" to be a medical term:
www.transhub.org.au/language

My kids as little ones referred to their front bottom as where the wee came from, so I do find "front hole" both demeaning and infantising.

Then someone needs to tell them they are wrong - in every sense.

I kind of agree with this. If you don't agree with gender ideology then maybe a website called "Folx" isn't the best place to be looking for advice

Weallgottachangesometime · 19/03/2023 07:53

It shocks me that something medical would use such ridiculous language.
using accurate correct language is so important. Front hole could mean a whole range of different things. Just use the correct term for the body part.

Won't they feel 'othered' by having a 'front hole?'

They have appropriated all the other female words so I'm sure it won't be long before they redefine vagina to mean 'anyone who believes they have a vagina'

Even if they still have cock n balls

BCBird · 19/03/2023 07:58

Many many years ago my friend went to the doctor and instead of saying vagina he said round the front. Wtf. I asked her if he thought he was in a Carry on film🙄

Teachingteacher · 19/03/2023 07:59

Redbird87 · 19/03/2023 02:02

I used to identify as masculine, but thank God my friends' terrible experiences with hrt kept me away from medically transitioning. "Front hole" is so disgusting and insulting, but considering that EVERY SINGLE ftm I've met has been sexually traumatized, it makes perfect sense.

Before figuring out the source of my own dysphoria, I wanted to distance myself from those parts, too. Myself and other older millennials/Gen x'ers used the most misogynistic phrasing we could think of when we HAD to talk about our vaginas. It was distancing, but also being in on the joke. You know that no one in their right mind sees a man when they talk to you, hear your voice, see your tiny hands, so you have to point it out before they can.

Whole thing is fucked up and cruel, and the system is perpetuating it by telling these girls that their revulsion means of course they aren't weak, fragile, vulnerable, complicated girls, instead of why they're running from their own womanhood.

Thankyou for sharing this, it’s really valuable to hear from women who are on the other side of this. As a teacher, I have so many doubts and worries about what’s happened in the lives of the girls at my school who identify as non-binary. It really upsets me that we aren’t allowed to even question it.

😂

I was banned from Twitter a couple of years ago for pointing out that TW are men (I know - radical, eh?) and haven't bee keeping up to date as well as I might.

As you say, the most salutary thing is that we have got to a stage that the situation parodies itself - nothing is too extreme.

Emotionalsupportviper · 19/03/2023 08:00

*been keeping

I am frightened of bees because they look a bit like wasps, stingy little buggers that they are

Runningoncoffeealone · 19/03/2023 08:03

So as a transman, I'm confused. Again. The last time I checked, a man has a penis and a woman has a vagina.
So for transmen who genuinely hate having a vagina and don't want to think about or talk about it, surely "front hole" would give them the same feeling?

TheOrigRights · 19/03/2023 08:07

Fromwetome · 19/03/2023 00:51

I'm probably setting myself up to be stripped down, but skim reading that article - they are using front hole specifically for trans men. It talks in detail about vaginal atrophy.
The first sentence talks about GAHT.

TheOrigRights · 19/03/2023 08:12

Oh and I don't think it meets the criteria for a credible medical article.
And if you're looking for HRT articles don't go to FOLX.
