At the Liberal Democrat Conference just now.

A fairly ordinary motion to tidy up quotas on party committees - basically, as it stood women were disadvantaged as a committee could be constituted entirely of men and non-binary men.

Wasn't even allowed to be discussed. The zealots pushed a 'move to next business' vote to silence women.

Raging misogyny. It's really, really not a good look guys.

He's tweeted that as a blue tick account making it clear that he's posting as a councillor. I see that as a breach of the code of conduct, does anyone fancy reporting him?

They are not critical of gender — they want to impose rigid and unchangeable gender roles on everyone, and don’t care who that imposition hurts or kills.

Lib Dems also wanted to promote prostitution as a career choice to school leavers so it's not as though they're new to the whole outrageous misogyny thing.

If you are on twitter (I don't have an account sorry) you could send the tweet to Sex Matters (I think they have an account) or Maya Forstater, as they usually throw loads of sunlight on this stuff and have a good platform.

I know it’s a cliche, but it’s so weird seeing a 21st Century Witch Hunt in real time. Maddening that the WEP is such a lost cause. Greens, LibDems, actively saying they don’t want my vote. Labour mostly tolerant of outright misogyny while gingerly hoiking one buttock onto the fence.

I evidently wrongly used to have the impression that the LibDems were a party of ideas. Wonder what Charles Kennedy would have made of it all.

And whenever I think of the LibDems on this subject I think of this mind blowing line from Jo Swinson’s book ostensibly on how to achieve “Equal Power”:

I always vote Libdem until the coalition and Nick Clegg screwed up the voting reform referendum which I imagine he negotiate in exchange for taking responsibility for increasing tuition fees.

Anyway there is no way I could vote for them now, listening to them heckle a woman pointing out that meeting female representation quotas wth non binary males and
transwomen is not equality is chilling. There is no shame about the misogyny which is rife in the party or any will to address it.

LibDem Policy, which was explicitly stated in the most recent Manifesto, is that prisoners should be held in facilities which reflecting Gender Identity, not birth Gender assignment.
