I'd really like to hear TED's explanation as to why they have removed this. Just taking it down is the epitome of cowardliness and everything they apparently stand for - ideas and exploration!
If you are wrong, you have to say you were wrong. You can't just slope off and pretend that no one saw it and worse, criticised it at the time! You lose all respect when you do that.
It is interesting that TED have done this nevertheless because one of my current theories about why this took off so much is that the whole 'trans and multiple gender' ideology was a thing for educated people, a way in which you could prove you were of a 'certain class' and not only that, a way in which to prove your intellectual capacity. And intellectual capacity is the best commodity there is in these times - we don't value physical labour, we value ideas and coming up with the next new thing - novelty. There are still people who think that it is the 'intellectual way of thinking about things' spouting all sorts of crap about chromosomes and feelz....which obviously plebs and bigots don't understand.
And TED were right at the heart of that. Intellectual ideas were their commodity.
