An Equalities Officer for the Labour party has posted a tweet based on PP style slogans. But it says:

gender critical
adult human murderers

😮

There's loons in every party.
This one should be kicked out.

Floisme · 17/02/2023 18:53

Xzxzxzxz · 17/02/2023 17:52

But this isn't Labour's equality officer - that's a complete misrepresentation.

It's an equalities officer. There are hundreds, and usually they are people who stand for the role, get it uncontested, and wield absolutely no power whatsoever within the Party.

It's a disgraceful tweet, but no constituency equalities officer speaks for the Party.

In that case Labour should have no difficulty in booting out this no-mark and then letting the party and the electorate know they have done so, as a warning and reassurance to all.

Sazzasez · 17/02/2023 18:53

This is a rather vocal
loon elected (uncontested iirc) in a provincial constituency if it’s the dude I’m thinking of. He was on Radio 4 not so long ago & was pathetic. I don’t think he understands what Equalities actually are. But certainly the LP should condemn it.

Meanwhile - Edgbaston Constituency Labour Party has passed a motion to Keep Prisons Single Sex.

Which I’m quite impressed about.

That's good to hear, assuming they know what 'sex' is.

Indeed.

The Daily Record on 20 December 2023 said Labour were whipped on the Bill..

God, that’s depressing.

The Press & Journal columnist, Euan McColm, says Sarwar made a catastrophic mistake there, acting as a political shield for the SNP when he could have now been respected as the voice of reason.

At least he spoke up later.

MarshaBradyo · 17/02/2023 19:46

I wonder if they’ll face an anti woman clear out as they did with the antisemitism issue

Davros · 17/02/2023 19:50

Is it autocorrect? Only explanation I can think of

nilsmousehammer · 17/02/2023 19:59

When women want equality of rights with men, men die? Is that the general idea? That women should not protest rape and endure it quietly because theirs is the responsibility to avoid negative publicity that may negatively affect male people? As opposed to, you know, those male people respecting women's equalities and right not to be raped?

And this is a person speaking for a party that thinks it's going to be fit to run the lemonade stand of the UK government, is it?

nilsmousehammer · 17/02/2023 20:00

I do love how when men do awful things to women, it's somehow the women's responsibility to endure and hide it for them, and be the human shield for those men experiencing negative consequences.

I went to the twitter account this came from to see if there is an update, and found this tweet!

Ridiculous that when I try to complain about this via the Labour website, it asks how OLD this person is. I have no idea. Yet it won’t let me submit the complaint without an age. I’ve taken a guess. What a farce.

@Sazzasez do you have a link cos I can't see that being announced anywhere

Desperation.

Indeed. Now archived for posterity...l

So it's bigotry to assume gender, but we can assume age to the nearest year? Not only would it be nice to know "the rules", but then the screaming illogical contradictions would be recorded for posterity 🙃

Nine SNP MSPs break whip and vote against gender recognition reforms

www.heraldscotland.com/politics/23209433.nine-snp-msps-break-whip-vote-gender-recognition-reforms/

Sorry cant access the article so not sure what it actually says!

Nine SNP MSPs break whip and vote against gender recognition reforms

"Nine SNP rebels voted against their own Government’s key gender recognition reforms – with one politician publicly criticising party bosses."

"MSPs overwhelmingly voted in favour of the Scottish Government’s gender recognition reforms – passing the plans by 86-39."

"Voting records published by the Scottish Parliament show that nine SNP MSPs defied party whips and voted against their own government."

"Ash Regan, who quit as a government minister in opposition to the plans, voted against the legislation along with Stephanie Callaghan, Annabelle Ewing, Fergus Ewing, Jim Fairlie, Kenny Gibson, Ruth Maguire, John Mason and Michelle Thomson."

No need to be snippy. There is a huge difference between a national equalities officer, who would be reasonably thought of by the public as voicing the Party's official policies and opinions (as it happens that role does not exist), and a rank and file member of a Party of hundreds of thousands having a profile picture which will hopefully see then expelled from the Party.

There are hundreds of equalities officers within the Labour Party.

Doesn't appear to work like that in the Labour Party. Have a look what happened to Anna Ruzylo in the Battle and Bexhill constituency in 2017. The perpetrator of that bullying and smear campaign (also a LP member and women's officer FFS) ended up having their picture taken with Jeremy Corbyn rather than being expelled.

The Labour Party have hated women for as long as the Conservative Party have been indifferent to us.

Sausagenbacon · 18/02/2023 08:38

Scottish Labour moved 4 amendments to the Bill. None were passed. But still Labour members were whipped (presumably by Ana's Sarwar) to vote for the Bill.
It's a bit late in the day for him to come over all woman-friendly

I know the workings of the Labour Party like the back of my hand.

The Conservative Party are not indifferent to women.

What on earth kind of twisted ego would want to say something like this? and why? And the same of the 3,000+ people who re-tweeted it. This can only be the behaviour of people in a cult.

But if the Labour Party doesn't take some action (even as little as a statement distancing themselves from this) then they tacitly agree with it.

MrsJamin · 20/02/2023 07:39

Why does one person's murder mean that all GC feminists are culpable? I just don't get it.

nilsmousehammer · 20/02/2023 09:36

It's victim blaming.

And a new fun way to try to desperately get women to shut up.

I know, it's insane isn't it? Men have been put in women's prisons and are terrorizing and harming and even raping them. But women, don't complain about it or mention it, just let the rapes happen quietly and let those men crack on harming women because if you say anything, it might inspire a violent nutjob to harm a trans person!

The endless loops that people will go through to try and avoid men encountering the word 'no' in their access to using women is staggering.

nilsmousehammer · 20/02/2023 09:38

It's quite interesting too to look across the ideology as a whole and consider the hypothesis "I wish to do whatever I want at all times, without responsibility or consequences, regardless of impact on or harm to others".

Consider the evidence, test the hypothesis and see whether it has relevancy.

That branch and CLP officers don’t seem to have to sign up to a code of conduct regarding social media isn’t a good sign for Labour’s ability to govern in a modern world.
