Apparently Sam Smith would love to be a "fisherm...fisherthem", as stated on The One Show.

This policing of language is becoming utterly insane. Yet even live on TV no one seems to bat an eyelid. They seem more confused by the concept of Sam fishing than the term "fisherthem". Gender is the only are where narcissism isn't just accepted, it's actively celebrated.

He is trolling everyone now though for sure. This isn't "them" used in a logical place even. The usual word is not usually fisherhe, if it were you could maybe see some sort of continuity of argument in using fisherthem, but it is fisherman, so utterly nonsensical.

Yes. And access hole cover, staffing (not manning) and so on. I remember when 'chairman' was standard and women demanded chairperson and the boys thought it too much of a mouthful. Now, 'chair' is common.

I wanted a special word for the body I have but I was told that was exclusionary and I must be "a person who menstruates" etc.

The word "angler" is definitely the right one but if Sam Smith doesn't want that Sam can definitely be "a person who fishes".

But I also saw a news headline that said Sam was being "misgendered" when the presenter didn't use the word "fisherthem" 🙄🙄🙄
