The admissions policy for the sports park allows in unaccompanied children from the age of 12.

UEA is in deep financial doodoo but still spends thousands to be Stonewall “Diversity” Champions & bring in “Gendered Intelligence” to do its “diversity” training.

The safeguarding statement on the sportspark website gets the law wrong - “gender” is there, sex isnt.

Anyone here no longer using the changing rooms, PLEASE write to Sportspark and tell them why. Write to the EDP too.

Also, ask to see Sportspark policy on changing rooms and sex.

They are so far refusing to say whether they have one (though “policies are always being reviewed” - if you can review it, it must be written down somewhere.

But if they refuse to show it, Norwich Women’s Rights Group will ask the Information Commissioner.

They have a policy on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults: it appears to be wrong in law in several points.

Another point is that lots of schools, sports clubs, the county teams etc use the Sportspark.

Their risk assessments are all based on the idea that, when the changing rooms say “female” (and not “all genders”) on the door, it means female.

Sportspark has just vitiated their risk assessments.

I’m local but not a Sportspark user. Is anything actually being done about it by them does anyone know?

Quite a few users have written to complain - and also ask for their policy. Weaselly replies so far, might have to refer to the information commissioner.
The local WRN-affiliate is trying to get more publicity.
if you’re a sportspark user, do write & complain... and ask for their policy on changing rooms, sex & gender. They should produce it when asked - so far they haven’t.

A male UEA student seriously sexually assaulted a female student in the library toilets a few years ago. I can’t find out what happened.

I don't care if he's trans, vegetarian or a fucking West Brom supporter. Neither do I care about the presence, or lack, of his genitals.

If he's male, he has no place in the women's changing facilities.

Absolutely. If you’ve got a penis (however you identify) you should not be in a space where women could be vulnerable.

We're going to have to report these men to the police as flashers. Two police officers are currently facing charges for failing to fully investigate Wayne Couzens for his earlier flashing offences. We need to put the onus on them to investigate. Just as the Wi Spa incident revealed a known sex offender (despite all the threats and wailing about transphobia), so many of these men will be revealed to be similar. No decent man strips naked in front of unconsenting women and girls. It's predatory behaviour.

Replies are beginning to come in, and the marketing & communications manager has stopped using cut & paste non-replies & has started saying concerns are being passed on to management.

Some of us have written directly to the management, but not heard back.

Still a refusal to publish or share their policy.

The excuse that the policy is being reviewed won’t wash: until a new policy is in place & staff training amended, the old policy is still in force.

They are obliged to let users know what it is.

What about the other way round ? If a trans man used the men's changing room and showed off their female genitalia. I would imagine it would make other men highly uncomfortable and vulnerable too ! Somebody high up needs to sort this out as this is unacceptable to both men and women .

You do understand the fundamental differences between men and women? If a man encountered a transman in a state of undress, he may feel awkward and embarrassed but he would never feel threatened or vulnerable.

It’s a total shitshow but I take a crumb of comfort from some excellent comments underneath that article. There are loads of them, too. Some very well-informed women telling it like it is. Plus the usual idiots, but you can’t have everything, I suppose.

I’ve just been looking to see if there was an update from the Sportspark and found they have a statement on their website. It’s woolly unsurprisingly. There is a feedback option on the site if anyone to provide feedback.

The thing is, most heterosexual men know exactly what their game is, which is why they are consistently more averse to men in women’s spaces than women are in the polls. I find it so frustrating how gullible women are, that when confronted by a flasher, they wonder if he might be ‘transitioning’. Even if a man has tucked or severed his penis, the same urge to flash and be near naked women will remain.
