Those so deeply entrenched in supporting gender identity in its ideological form really must have exploding brains trying to cope with the dissonance that these cases bring. They all make these proclamations about 'this one is just a predatory man' vs 'this person is so vulnerable and marginalised' when there is fuck all of a difference between the two male people. I have nothing to say on the crime that hasn't already been said. This person is a man (as are all "transwoman"). Most men do not engage in behaviour like this but some do. This man went by the name Amy for years. Why are the media reporting this single case as a man, is this because if the crime he committed? Does their editorial policy now stand on one's internal feelings of a 'gender' and depending on a criminal history, because we have all be led to believe that it's the internal sense of self that is what dictates whether someone is trans or not.

According to the reports I've seen, he specifically said he wanted to be referred to as a man. This is fortunate for the media, because they've been spared the difficult decision of whether to refer to him by his biological sex or by his preferred name and pronouns.

I could be very cynical and wonder who may have encouraged him to do so. Not least as his 'deadname' will then be the one known and can be left behind, but also as this is devastating to the narrative of a lot of powerful bodies involved as yet another PR car crash this year. And it's only May.

He would have known he could trick a girl into his car more effectively by specifically dressing ‘as a woman’. Because children would have been expecting to be safe in a car with a woman. That deceptive ploy should count for something at sentencing. Presumably there will be some legal precedent for that?. We have been repeatedly told that there would be severe penalties for fraudulent and deceptive use of transitioning. Although frankly anyone who says they are is, so there never has been and never will be any real standard for this, plus we were told endlessly that no man would ever go to the trouble of doing this just to offend.

They are all trans. Which is fine, all populations contain perpetrators. But it does prove yet again that this is a population that women need safeguarding against. How many women's spaces has this perpetrator used while escalating to this offense? It is after all very rare for such a serious offense to be the first one.

And how many early escalating offenses would these days actually end up being reported for police to begin to track and notice an emerging and escalating offender, since someone flashing in a women's changing room- the woman is more likely to be punished for complaining than the male who has claimed the protections simply by walking into the space.

These are the realities. They're a reason for precautions and boundaries and female only spaces, and these realities are not 'anti trans' unless you see it as right and necessary for women to be harmed and refusal to be an act of aggression.

And when I say 'a population that women need safeguarding against', I mean it in exactly the same way that women have had safeguarding against the population of the sex class of men.

Re the legal position

She will NOT a have to attend court.

He had pled guilty. So as a matter of law a background report is now ordered into him.

That's a standard criminal justice social work report. That will be submitted to court, the procurator fiscal will submit their findings, the defence solicitor will refer to that report, anything else relevant and he will be sentenced.

I'm saying he because he has confirmed that to be the case in record.

He will be sentenced to a male prison.

The victim and or her family could, if they wished, provide a letter to the court but there is no requirement to do so
