Only source so far, but appears to be potentially corroborated by the Sun:

A RAPISTGENDER INDIVIDUAL IS NEITHER MAN NOR TRANS NOR WUMMAN BUT HUMZA CAN CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE AT IT

'The court was told that Miller is in the process of transitioning to female.'

Put this fucker into a woman's prison and you can expect fucking anarchy, Scotgov.

Arabella that headline is really alarming - until you realise the person works as a butcher and has (had?) a butcher's shop. I'm sure it's deliberate 😱

The BBC reporting is interesting! BBC News - Man abducted and sexually assaulted schoolgirl while dressed as woman
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-65610429

Says this person was transitioning but still explicitly refers to him as a man.

That wouldn't have happened a year or two ago.

Man abducted and sexually assaulted schoolgirl while dressed as woman

Andrew Miller, also known as Amy George, sexually assaulted the primary school girl after taking her to his home.

Yes, Baby, this person is a 'transwoman' as much as any other male is a transwoman.

The BBC are being coy because they don't want to use the word.

Surely what the BBC are being is bigoted? I thought that was what we are always told.

otoh, I am glad that poor child isn't suffering the insult of having to lie about her attacker as well as her injuries.

h4181698 · 18/05/2023 10:43

Lock him/her up and throw away the key. This person is a danger to children

ArabellaScott · 18/05/2023 10:48

Well, yes, but the next question is where they lock him up.

Yes. Thank goodness that poor girl was found alive.

As for the BBC, I won't give them any credit for clear reporting, they're just trying to distance Miller from transwomen.

Brisland · 18/05/2023 10:51

Is the BBC reporting meant to ease the transgender community into accepting that this person will go to a male prison?

Oh, he is just a man who happened to dress as a woman, BUT he isn’t trans, so it’s off to male prison for him.

?

NotTerfNorCis · 18/05/2023 10:53

The article says he's in the process of transitioning. He is 100% a transwoman.

BezMills · 18/05/2023 10:54

Yeah in Scotland you are trans if you say you are, so he trans all right.

Brisland · 18/05/2023 11:03

I agree that he is trans - as soon as he even thought about transitioning/cross dressing/etc/etc he became trans according to the ‘trans community’.

Just musing as to why the BBC is reporting this one so differently to every other trans criminal…..

nilsmousehammer · 18/05/2023 11:06

At a guess, it's a rather hopeless and despairing attempt to disguise from the general public that here is yet another example that some male people who identify as women are not safe for women and girls. Not all, but some.

ZeldaFighter · 18/05/2023 11:18

I thought the protections in the Equality Act 2010 applied as soon as you began gender reassignment. So the BBC are committing hate speech?

ArabellaScott · 18/05/2023 11:21

Has his posing as a woman has any bearing on how he has been treated? Was he considered less of a risk?

OP posts:
ArabellaScott · 18/05/2023 11:22

Reporting is clear he 'dressed as a woman' when he abducted the girl.

Poor little girl. So young and still had the presence of mind and bravery, after going through all that, to ring 999 once the bastard was asleep.

guinnessguzzler · 18/05/2023 11:26

Aargh, none of it makes sense! But I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to.

'At the time of his arrest, he was presenting as Amy George but confirmed he wished to be addressed as Andrew Miller using "he" pronouns for simplicity.
The girl later told police she had been unable to get a bus home and so started to walk when she was approached "by a lady in a car" who offered to give her a lift in a Jaguar car.
She said she had accepted the offer because she was cold and believed the "lady" to be non-threatening.'

Meanwhile Reddit is having another normal one.
Trans is in inverted commas for one thread (but I thought people are whatever they say they are), while the other says the BBC article is transphobic for - I'm not sure what... Covering the story? Describing him as a man dressed as a woman?
Anyway, good to remember who the real victims are. There's no mention of that little girl.

Bearsinmotion · 18/05/2023 11:39

I was just about to add that quote - he (the attacker) is a he because he said he was.

But if she (the victim) said he (the attacker) was a he, she would be a bigot and need re-educating.

maltravers · 18/05/2023 11:40

The report looks very serious. It says he had an attic bedroom/built or set up with a lock in the outside and only accessible through a hall cupboard, so concealed. Poor kid, thank goodness she escaped and I hope she can put it behind her. Well done her on being so strong and resourceful.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/05/2023 11:48

Shudder.

The article says he's in the process of transitioning. He is 100% a transwoman.

'Gender -reassignment' is a protected category in the equalities act, and to qualify for that category you have to have either fully transitioned, or intend to fully transition.
