Apparently not newsworthy enough to merit a mention in The Guardian. FFS!

Feministwoman · 18/02/2023 02:06

Fucking hell, in Scotland that poor child could quite possibly have been given a TIM doing the rape forensics, other forensics, medical aftercare.

I feel sick, thinking about the possibilities. Hopefully she got a real Woman Dr, Nurse, Police officer
And anyone else involved in her care.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 18/02/2023 02:48

I'll riot on the streets if that was the case, @Feministwoman . I'd not be alone, either. Poor wee girl, it's horrific, and I fear there will be worse to come from that person. Or are we to describe (alleged) dangerous male sex offenders as "individual" now?

That'll be because "This Never Happens" Hmm

SinnerBoy · 18/02/2023 05:53

Or that protecting a paedophile rapist's feelings is more of a priority to them than reporting that he's raped an 11 year old girl.

The poor child, and what she went through*.

If that ever comes to light, I will join you in that riot @vivariumvivariumsvivaria

I hope and pray she has all of the help and therapy she needs, and for her family too. They must be reeling.

Well the Forensic Examiner Bill was amended ro 'sex not gender', after much brave work from women, but I suppose in light of Haldane's JR that law is called into question.

That’s completely dystopian Arabella and more and more I see this this men’s sexual access to women and children campaign very clearly for exactly what it is. Male violence and male sexual entitlement is why no women can safely allow men into any place or situation in which they would be vulnerable.

Anyone saying otherwise is either in favour of removing safeguarding and adding risk to women and children (massive red flag) and/or is very naive and sheltered and/or stupid, or is none of these things but is in line to gain something (personally or professionally) by advocating for removing safeguards. And to gain by not challenging male violence and male sexual entitlement.

nilsmousehammer · 18/02/2023 09:54

The desire to overpower a female person's right to say 'however you identify, I perceive you as male and I asked for a same sex examiner for this intimate, highly distressing situation' and to put her in the point of 'let me handle you intimately regardless of how you feel about it, or consequences including losing care'?

Yes. That made it pretty clear really. Any hcp capable of that total lack of care, compassion, empathy and humanity should be nowhere bloody near any live patients.

BordoisAgain · 18/02/2023 10:59

Oh that poor girl ☹️

If she was groomed by her rapist she may not yet have understanding of what happened to her hence appearing "well".

Yes, odd how they fought against that amendment and yet in court at the FWS2 case argued that the words were interchangeable. Disingenuous bastards.

TheBiologyStupid it is the mark of the whole debate: doesn’t change a thing but is vitally important.

  • Re the sexual assault of a young child by penetration charge, in the Scottish Sexual Offences legislation, the word "penetration" can include with a penis.* Very unlikely to mean penetration with a penis as S18 of the 2009 act is specifically "rape of a younger child" (that is under 13). If S19 included penetration by penis there would be no need for S18.
Klex · 18/02/2023 16:16

Ach bolting went to pot there

MissingLesbianSpaces · 18/02/2023 18:19

I just keep thinking of Laurie Penny's statement that little girls who see a naked transwoman in a gym or dressing room should be taught to NOT stare at someone's genitals. I wonder if today she is concerned about whether this poor 11 year old female child looked at this pedophile's penis? Because THAT would be criminal. I am so outraged and disgusted by people, especially women like Laurie Penny, who care more about flashers and pedophiles than innocent little girls. They need to be dropped off on an island along with the rapists and pedophiles so they can "service" their fetishes away from the rest of society.

h4181698 · 18/02/2023 21:11

I hope the evil b gets a long prison sentence

MissingLesbianSpaces · 18/02/2023 21:30

To expand upon the Laurie Penny quote, she was asked how 15 year old girl would feel if a trans woman fully undressed in front of her and she replied:

How am I supposed to know how she would feel? I haven't met your daughter, and I'm not her parent. But I'd advise her not to stare at other people's genitals without their permission, because it's rude.

How can we EVER win when women are standing up for these perverts?

Laurie dear, you've got this arse about face. How about advising the transwoman exposing 'her' penis to put it away and fuck off out of female spaces. Honestly this madness is just unreal.

But How the fuck does it make a heap of shit of difference to her?

The victim blaming is always there and is rooted in the belief of female humans as mobile service providers.

Look at the whole: stop talking about women being raped in prisons, or crime committed by TQ+ males, because you have to take all the responsibility for ensuring that raving nut cases don't behave inappropriately to TQ+ people having heard you.

As opposed to, you know, the male people involved stopping the raping and crime and making it necessary for women to talk about.

Oh and remember under this dystopia shit show we are in, according to NSPCC (I think, happy to be corrected) what we should be asking first if this wee girl was actually upset or had 'hurty feels' from this, as she might have been OK and had a good time therefore everything's just fine and nothings wrong...

It won't - but that's how the law works. IIRC historically the reason for rape being a separate offence was because of the potential for pregnancy.

That differentiation has been carried over from the common law to the statute books.

Anyone local to Gala?

I heard police have been looking at the properties for longer than you would expect u less they were having extensive forensics to rule out other crimes being done at the building.

if that is true it might explain a sudden need to abandon one’s cushy job.

I hope it’s not true. Kidnap isn’t a starter crime, though

poor kid, I keep thinking about her. 11 years old, it’s just unbearable
