The media has been mis sexing men for ages in their reports of male pattern crimes committed by men who identify as trans, but this time we're supossed to say the fact that this person is trans is irrelevant?

And we're not supposed to either notice or comment on it?

At a time when the Scottish First Minister is trying to change laws to allow any man who says he is a woman to become a woman at law with minimal process.

Trans woman are male, lesbians are not. It's pretty fucking offensive to make that comparison.

But the government ARE discriminating here. Males who say they are trans are given special treatment and allowed to request a move to a female prison. This discriminates against other males who I'm quite sure would prefer to be in a female prison. How is that right @Justellingthetruth ? After all you say all discrimination is bad.

Without discrimination, women's sport wouldn't exist, nor would children's sport, all prisons would be mixed sex, we'd have toddlers falling off disney rides, men in primary schools, five year olds drinking and getting married, homosexuality wouldn't exist, nor would heterosexuality, and the dustman could perform your triple heart bypass.

How about you let all the trans people know then that if they commit any crime that is reportable in the media, they will be described by sex, not gender. That is with an age descriptor so in this case, man.

Once that is agreed, there is no real need for us to fight back on these descriptors.

And by the way, I think it is very negatively discriminatory that media supports the need of a man over the needs of women and children to have accurate reporting and for crimes that are not committed by women as being wrongly attributed.

What it shows is your inability to hold a concept with all its realities in your head.

People have pointed you to the definition of discrimination. Discrimination can be positive and it can be negative. You have assumed, incorrectly, that all discrimination is negative.

Negative discrimination can be done for positive reasons as well as for negative. One reason is to exclude others from a group meant, for overcoming oppression or another even better defined reason such as for privacy to discuss trauma.

You accusations reflect over simplified thinking.

And you and suggestions both seem to miss the very fact that if male criminals had not been given permission, through whoever gave it without asking women, to insist that media, courts and statistics collectors to have their crime reported as being committed by female criminals , then this would not be something we have to question.

If you want to point fingers of shame, point it at every single person who supported male criminals being treated as female criminals. And if that includes you, then own it.
