The prof is on tomorrow's programme

I’ll be on BBC Radio 4’s Anti-Social tomorrow talking about pronouns, risk assessment and the issues around transgender prison placement policy.

Should be good...!

Shame WH are too chicken.

I listened to it. I think it shows how far things have come that R4 was willing to devote an hour to the issue and included opportunities for a gender critical person to get their points across. Can you imagine this having happened a year ago? Jo was great.

I did laugh loudly at Steph claiming to be unaware of the judicial review that was on the exact point she was on to speak about.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

Yes, it'll be very interesting to see how the wider trans community respond to what Steph had to say.

unwashedanddazed · 03/02/2023 23:55

I get the impression that Steph is not particularly popular with militant TRAs. Around the time that Steph's Place changed its name they announced they were going to publish a ground-breaking scientific paper that proved a biological cause to transness. Very affirming one might assume? Not according to Twitter and Reddit TRAs, they went ballistic demanding no such evidence should ever be published as it would lead to mass abortions of trans babies and thus genocide.

Steph backed down. So now we'll never see that marvellous proof and we'll just have to keep on taking their word for it.

'I genuinely think the pink leggings played a not insignificant part'

This 100%! I would love to compare the reactions of those who only saw the cropped head and shoulders photo of Isla in blond wig and pink handbag and those who saw the three quarter photograph Isla's leggings which, as I know know from Jo's data, clearly indicated that Isla was one of the 90% who has not had any gender affirmation surgery.

Boiledbeetle · 04/02/2023 00:09

Nah, the pink leggings played no part in things!!!. It was the fact that he didn't wear a longer length top that fucked things up for him
