India has come to the conclusion the general public support him, after looking at his Twitter feed. Must have forgotten they’ve blocked thousands of rational people. India lives in a tiny little fantasy bubble.

I know. It was like being in an episode of Life On Mars. But it’s backfired looking at the reaction from those watching at home. Just so sad this happens in 2023 #BBCQT

VaddaABeetch · 03/02/2023 08:29

Was it my imagination or did the women sitting beside yellow dress women shrink Somewhat when she was speaking? I’m not with her?

After the savaging that Glinner got on newsnight I wonder how he’s feeling (smug I hope) after watching India shown up as a fool.

bellinisurge · 03/02/2023 08:01

Just watched it. O what a tangled web we weave, when we practise to deceive.

India's schtick about "it's only a tiny minority " is no longer working. Fiona Bruce with her "more important things to talk about " stuff is pathetic.

Had a conversation online with a TRA about the impact on disabled women. I was told of course I would be entitled to a "cis woman " cater if I needed one. They are so blinkered these clowns.

People are waking up

O what a tangled web we weave, when we practise to deceive.

That quote is so perfect in all this. I feel like I want to have it beautifully embroidered and framed, then send it out to all who need to see it every day. Nicola Sturgeon could have one in her study, IW, in fact, every one who wakes up every day and decides it will be another one of living a lie.

zanahoria · 03/02/2023 08:31

"Isla was in solitary in a women's prison, so that's okay".

If he is in solitary then why not in a men's prison?

picklemewalnuts · 03/02/2023 08:32

So, women's prisons... are they staffed with predominantly women?
Are men's prison officers predominantly men?

I realise there are equal access limits about who can work where.

I'm just wondering how unreasonable it is to expect the officers at a women's prison to deal with a man.

NancyDrawed · 03/02/2023 08:33

@Madcats

I am not on twitter myself as I said upthread, but I have seen that Question Time have put a clip of Ella speaking the truth on theirs

EndlessTea · 03/02/2023 08:33

MichaelFabricantWig · 03/02/2023 08:16

Chances are she’s had enough of this shit and no longer gives a fuck. I’m getting there myself.

I am getting vibes that this woman is really strong.

She handled being grilled and hassled and cajoled into telling a lie, whilst in a theatre full of people, on national TV, but she stood firm and told the truth.

zanahoria · 03/02/2023 08:35

"about North Sea Oil, which the English bloody robbed from Scotland."

The English?

If you do not like decisions made by the UK Government then say that but no need to need to be racist

HufflepuffRavenclaw · 03/02/2023 08:36

India Willoughby is vile. I had no strong feelings about India until India appeared on Celeb Big brother about 5 years ago and was totally vile to everyone else in the house. India is very confused about "biology".

Very much agree with yellow shirt woman.

Dymaxion · 03/02/2023 08:36

Did Jenny Gilruth ever admit that Adam Graham was a man ? she kept referring to him as 'this individual' and I don't think she actually answered Ella Whelan's question ?

HufflepuffRavenclaw · 03/02/2023 08:38

Dodging the question is page 1 in the SNP training.

Yes, I have great admiration for her. She picked up on a trend to refer to black women by a certain panel member, too. She brought all the fantastical codswallop back to women and girls having to be safe.

Cailleach1 · 03/02/2023 08:39

Sorry, it was all children (as it should be).

Funny definition of "robbed". Thanks to the jolly old Barnett formula, Scotland has had higher per capita public spending than England for decades, now. Currently it's 17% higher than the UK average, with England 3% below.

Good that they've got such outstanding public infrastructure and education services to show for all that extra spending... 🙄

Didn't Rhona Hotchkiss say that he wouldn't have been in solitary? That you can only segregate a prisoner if they have violated the rules, which means waiting until a woman has actually been harmed?

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 03/02/2023 08:42

Fiona Bruce with her "more important things to talk about " stuff is pathetic

I don’t like her anyway

family member was on QT and made a comment and she said they were wrong and that it was happening and it didnt happen and she was wrong 😠

i bear grudges….

but yes i thought lady in yellow was very brave and ella was very good,

Thank you for this. I love this woman. Watching her again, you see how confrontational and manipulative IW is. Keeps interrupting her and talking over her (she perseveres) and interjects with “Well what you’re saying there, is that you think transwomen are men..”

And she answers “In my opinion they still are men.”

That was so strong.

It makes such a difference to say man/men. A line in the sand.

Maybe IW will ‘let that really penetrate’ now.

No one believes men are women.

Time to free up that self-perception and ego from reliance on what others think.

Men are free to get surgery and take drugs, to make themselves resemble women a bit more, although, in my opinion, it is not wise or healthy. They are free to wear clothes designed and cut for women and wear make up.

But they can’t make others perceive them as anything other than what they are - men who may have been surgically altered, wearing clothes normally associated with women.

If that causes them inconvenience in their daily life, for example, confusion over which toilet or changing room to go into - either the one which they hanker for, but are prohibited from (it violates opposite sex boundaries, and would be breaking the ‘social contract’ to use), or the one they belong in, with their own sex (where they may be embarrassed if they catch eyes with a fellow man whose look says “I see what you’re up to mate”), then they need to find a way to manage it. It is their own responsibility, it certainly isn’t women’s responsibility and is definitely no excuse for violating women’s boundaries.

It’s my personal belief that happiness can only be found by accepting ourselves (and others) as we are, but still recognising the limitless potential in that. Human beings are amazing (actually not just human beings- just about everything is marvellous when you think about it).

Women need, as a base level, to be able to keep the things feminists in the past fought for, to enable our fair participation in society, where we can enjoy equal freedoms with men, so we don’t have to waste so much energy fighting and defending them all over again, and we can get on with living and marvelling at life’s wonders too.

@EndlessTea Your comments are spot on.

BridasShieldWall · 03/02/2023 08:47

I hope the politicians on the panel, watching from home and being updated by colleagues realise the mood of the public here. The women raising the issue were being supported by the majority of the audience. This wasn’t happening a year ago when the audience were applauding ‘be kind’ - it’s a complete change now the reality is showing.

I was cheering Ella, the women in yellow and the woman who asked the original question (great question widening it out to all single sex spaces) on.

Yes exactly that. IW and followers saying how biased the studio audience was. NO, India, the audience was a cross representation of the population. Living your life on twitter is not the real world.

Yes. Yes . Yes. My view is that mental health and maturity comes first from an acceptance of reality and limitation.
My biggest shock and concern in all of this, is just how unhealthy and unwise the culture at large, and the institutions that maintain it have shown themselves to be. (I know other issue have shown thi- but this seems to be at another level!)

I have found it very destabilising- its like a sudden realisation (or slow dawning) as an adolescent- or younger- that the adults around you are deeply flawed and can't be relied on. I feel like I'm having to grow up all over again!

EndlessTea · 03/02/2023 08:55

and the woman who asked the original question

Yes, absolutely. She definitely had to muster up courage to ask it. Her eyes spoke volumes about all the things she could say right now.

Hats off to her.

She didn't answer the question.
I think politicians need one of these online polls when asked these questions. Is the rapist a Man or Woman, choose one only. No text box!
