Elite sports people speaking up!

There seems to be an increasing number of sports people speaking up about the problem of males completing in women's sports which is positive. Thought it might be useful to have a thread of those who are risking sticking their heads above the parapet. Obviously the likes of Sharon Davies, Mara Yamauchi and Martina Navratilova have been bravely doing this for sometime but now we appear to have a few current athletes as well who are prepared to risk the mob to ensure women have fair competition. Is it too much to hope for that there will be a snowball effect?

Would be great if the FA had to pay out for something in their long history of misogyny.

The FA apologised in 2008 for the 50 year ban (1921-71) they imposed on the women's game. An apology to women would be nice. It would also be nice if I could live to see it. Perhaps my daughters might?

The cycling organisation seems to have hidden the entry of the male cyclist from the female competitors.

Happened to us - we challenged the safety and fairness of letting males play. Our team was kicked out the league, the players were terrified of being branded transphobic and the team folded.

“To comply with the Equality Act 2010, BWL will only offer a female category which only includes women and girls whose biological sex is female. BWL will not permit the participation of males who identify as female. This is deemed unlawful and discriminatory as per the Equality Act 2010.”

I think security were primed and waiting. From a quick read of the article it's not clear if there was a separate women's competition. I'm going to assume there is. So, it's likely they're breaking the law as confirmed by the SC.

Yes they always used to do the cheek swab - one test and done for the athlete's career.

It should never have been stopped.

Maybe one day the Rio 2016 800m medals will be reallocated but I doubt it...

Hope other sports bodies will follow and the cheats will be removed from women’s sport.
