Elite sports people speaking up!

1000 replies

Signalbox · 30/01/2023 10:29

There seems to be an increasing number of sports people speaking up about the problem of males completing in women's sports which is positive. Thought it might be useful to have a thread of those who are risking sticking their heads above the parapet. Obviously the likes of Sharon Davies, Mara Yamauchi and Martina Navratilova have been bravely doing this for sometime but now we appear to have a few current athletes as well who are prepared to risk the mob to ensure women have fair competition. Is it too much to hope for that there will be a snowball effect?

I think they can sue as the Law is today what it was in 2010 it hasn't changed, what the FA were doing was against the Law and ignorance of the Law is no defence.

I hope all the women and girls damaged by the FA punching down on them band together and sue them.

Would be great if the FA had to pay out for something in their long history of misogyny.

lcakethereforeIam · 05/05/2025 22:57

The FA apologised in 2008 for the 50 year ban (1921-71) they imposed on the women's game. An apology to women would be nice. It would also be nice if I could live to see it. Perhaps my daughters might?

It would NumberTheory the only time anything hurts is when it hits them in the pocket.

Too right. The last time DD played football it was in a University match against a team that included a man in his 30s. He was not very good, but large and strong and DD ended up so battered she could not play the next week. She never went back.

Worse probably for the 18 year old first years on the other team who were forced to share a changing room with a bigger, stronger and older man all the while pretending this was a woman. All their instincts would have been screaming that this was both inappropriate and unsafe. I assume a fair few of this group would also have failed to return. To satisfy the ego one man, who could have played in a men's team, several women and girls were denied access to sport. This is not inclusion.

DD now has a similar problem with the team she now plays for in a different sport with a transwoman on the side. Other teams are refusing to play them and the Committee are split. It is a fairly new club and sadly one man may destroy it. I assume the same has been happening all over the country at grass roots level in a number of sports.

Happened to us - we challenged the safety and fairness of letting males play. Our team was kicked out the league, the players were terrified of being branded transphobic and the team folded.

“To comply with the Equality Act 2010, BWL will only offer a female category which only includes women and girls whose biological sex is female. BWL will not permit the participation of males who identify as female. This is deemed unlawful and discriminatory as per the Equality Act 2010.”

Some brave women protesting

I think security were primed and waiting. From a quick read of the article it's not clear if there was a separate women's competition. I'm going to assume there is. So, it's likely they're breaking the law as confirmed by the SC.

There was a separate women's competition featuring 7 women and a man

PDC turn off the comments everything Noa Lynne plays - they know the cowardly sods

Yes they always used to do the cheek swab - one test and done for the athlete's career.

It should never have been stopped.

Maybe one day the Rio 2016 800m medals will be reallocated but I doubt it...

kiterunning · 30/07/2025 18:47

Hope other sports bodies will follow and the cheats will be removed from women’s sport.

Excellent news, he can go back and play in the men's league, where he damned well belongs.

DaughterOfPsychiatrist · 04/08/2025 21:47

Yay! Off you fuck Noa! And you can take Harri Haynes with you an ‘all.

Commendably even-handed reporting for the US there, I thought. Stick to the facts.

lcakethereforeIam · 04/08/2025 22:53

I'm glad costs were awarded against him. Could anyone hazard a guess what that's likely to be.

And who’s actually paying them.

DaughterOfPsychiatrist · 05/08/2025 10:21

“The EBPF was the only one of three pool organisations to stand our ground when threatened with Harriet’s claim. The claim was brought against Paul and Anna personally and was a very stressful experience for them. At one point, Harriet’s solicitor said that Paul’s and Anna’s ‘houses and lives’ were potentially on the line.

Harri’s solicitor behaving like a bullying partner trying to exert coercive control!

I wonder if Harri has a house to lose? Presumably Harri’s own legal costs have been crowdfunded but as we’ve seen with cases like the nonbinary American tech twit trying to force the government to give him an NB GRC, the trans side of these cases attracts far fewer individual financial contributors.

This has been a really great thread. If anyone wants to see the progress of the gender wars, here it is.

Another thread please @Signalbox

Saw this on another thread so thought I’d put it here. Not everything is a win, it seems ☹️

That's the end game of these men isn't it? To trash and obliterate everything related to women. Seems that some sporting bodies are happy to comply with the misogyny.

Turns out the rights are in conflict after all .... So they prioritise the men.

It’s a punishment isn’t it? Either let men compete or we’ll take away your opportunities entirely. Wankers.
