A total of 2 furries attended the protest and all Forbidden Planet got out of it was a whole load of twitter abuse for stocking Harry Potter merch.

I think a lot of women here care about the damage dehumanising (and actual transphobic) language can do.
Ironic that this type of language is coming from the TRAs though

It was so heartwarming to see just how many women (and men) turned up to support this vital cause, so many more people finally getting the courage to attend these peaceful rallies. Some of the speakers were so moving (that poor woman Henrietta who is forced as a highly vulnerable disabled woman for example to not be even allowed to ask for female carers without being shamed, the woman who'd be in prison in Scotland and how the other female prisoners feel over potentially being forced to be around a convicted rapist, it was horrifying)

Women here have always fought for fairness. If you don't understand that you need to listen harder.

You're all on the same side of this argument. The first comment about being transphobic was ironic, aimed at a post from a TRA, which has since been deleted. Then someone who hadn't seen the TRA's comment took issue with the comment about transphobia. Then someone else took issue with that.

You all agree. Now, back to the discussion of the protest....

What was the atmosphere like actually once you are there?

It was cold! I was glad we finished on time.

It was surprisingly chilled. People from both sides were wandering into Greggs and Wetherspoons with no visible hostility. Which shows they know full well we are not actually fascists.

Most demonstrations are actually pretty relaxed in general. Even on the rare occasion there is a scuffle, it is always very easy to keep away from the spot where it's happening.

I remember after the poll tax riot in 1990-whenever-it-was, thousands of people returned home with no idea there had been any trouble.

That is a great picture on the BBC page. I can just make myself out in the crowd, but had not realised just how many people were actually there!

So glad I went. The speakers were all brilliant and so courageous to speak out.

All the bleating about how transphobic MN is and invariably the transphobic posts (which are rightly deleted) are from TRAs or their allies, to say nothing of their homophobia, misogyny and racism. Right side of history? In their fucking dreams.

The Beeb TV coverage was rubbish - barely mentioned it and gave half the time to the tra protest. Stitched up by the wokerati, I think.
