Interesting little article exposing the moral compass of Monty.

Why does Montgomerie adopt the mannerisms of a 16 year old? It is really noticeably immature mannerisms. Do they think it will help to pass? A very tall male with extreme body modifications needs the mannerisms to further distract from being a very tall male with extreme body modifications?

It amuses me that Monty's talk has been overshadowed by Isla Bryson.

I tried to listen but the snide remarks and completely lack of veracity to so much of what said infuriated me. And it was so boring, nothing new or interesting or different or insightful at all. I actually fell asleep! Not sure I can be bothered to try again bit I did want to witness the GC bravery.

V few people there really. Probably a bit disappointing. Did anyone else wonder who wrote the big up intro? Wasn't it just a bit....much? I've never been to an event where so much praise has been heaped prior to the person actually speaking, especially when it's ticketed and you can assume those coming have opted to do so because they know and want to hear the speaker?

I am really pleased that it went ahead. More like it please. The last few weeks have shown that the more people hear, the more questions they have and the more discussion there is. Great! And I'm also really pleased that there were no demos, no threats, no loud heckling. But I do so wish the same respect and facilitation could be afforded to all points of view.

This is considered appropriate at a prestigious university? I'm glad my daughters are long past university age. The only 'evidence' of GC people being hateful is the complete distortion and misrepresentation of the WDI, and that's used to rationalise deplatforming women talking about their rights. It's such weak reasoning, and for a university to be promoting no-platforming is nuts.

Well, you know, if you ensure that you present your case using various hyperbolic and exaggerated strawman arguments, and then censor anyone trying to ask reasonable, politely worded questions ... it will work for a very small audience for a limited amount of time.

I tried to listen but the sound quality is so shit I abandoned ship. Even tried an external Bluetooth speaker. Still awful. I cba with that, I listen to these things while moving around doing stuff (Obvs, or I’d never get anything done).
