Fashion YouTuber discussing her discomfort with Trans women promoting tampons

CharlotteSometimes1 · 27/01/2023 17:30

I haven’t seen a thread highlighting this, but it was posted on YT a week ago so maybe I’ve missed it.

Frederique Bros is a fashion YouTuber with 223 thousand subscribers and she posted a video talking about trans women and NB people promoting tampons. She’s making no bones about thinking it’s wrong and the comments are largely in agreement.

This isn’t a political pundit, or activist but a woman speaking out in the mainstream. I never thought I’d see the day, so thought you might like to see too.

These men are grim with their obsession about women and our periods. Well done her for calling this out - if ever there's a week for educating the public about the extent of gaslighting of women by creepy men, this is it!

Cheekymaw · 27/01/2023 17:41

Good on her ! Sick of creeps treating menstruation as a fetish.

Chersfrozenface · 27/01/2023 17:46

And you'll notice it isn't ever about pads, is it?

Always tampons.

I wonder why.

Good point!

@Chersfrozenface thats a very good point. Also I wonder whether tamax would pay a man (non trans for the sake of clarification) to be an ally of women and say how he always has tampons to hand for his female friends?

notanicepersonapparently · 27/01/2023 18:04

@CharlotteSometimes1 Thanks for posting this. I’ve watched some YouTube videos by her before but strangely YouTube haven’t ‘suggested’ this one to me.

Malariahilaria · 27/01/2023 18:05

Very good point on it always being about tampons. That sickening little chap on tiktok squealing 'eeww like where do I even put this thing' gives me the rage. Many responses saying 'up a vagina, which you don't have'.

WarriorN · 27/01/2023 18:05

Ugh, she's right, 'no darling you're not a woman'

WarriorN · 27/01/2023 18:06

Last guy just looked like a 13 year old messing about with tampons being an idiot like they do

Boiledbeetle · 27/01/2023 18:23

I've got to say the young lad doing the unboxing video of a packet of tampax pearl was actually really funny.

The first two 🤐

Boiledbeetle · 27/01/2023 18:23

Although I'm not sure if he was trying to be

2bazookas · 27/01/2023 18:31

No sanpro manufacturer will damage their brand by association with anyone who describes periods as "gross, disgusting".

Yet again, fetishists give away their core agenda is misogyny, degrading and insulting real women.

DarkDayforMN · 27/01/2023 19:00

I really like her! And her accent is so charming.

Jeffrey Marsh though. How can someone so hammily villainous actually be a real person? He’s like a baddie in a children’s movie. Thank goodness for her reactions, I couldn’t have borne even that short clip of him if it weren’t for the faces she was pulling.

Sweetlikechocolate6 · 27/01/2023 19:06

I would love a man to have to go through the cramps the upset stomachs dizziness nausea headaches mood swings general feeling of being dirty women have to go through every bloody month if not using contraception and these assholes think it’s something they can just lie about for their own creepy weird fetishes

MorvenOfMalvern · 27/01/2023 20:24

I've never known anyone describing periods as gross and disgusting and I would never ever use that language around my teen and ore teen daughters. How dare he lecture is?

I stopped buying Tampax as a result of the Dylan shite and the awful, awful twitter stuff. It was hard because I struggled to find super plus in other brands. Luckily I'm now the proud owner of an iud and can manage with period pants. Will never buy them for my girls ever now.

Me too, she's great! I want her as a chic friend! I love that top and the touched waist too (am hopeless with clothes but I can aspire).

Delphinium20 · 27/01/2023 21:08

She'd so cool! And I love how she gets her point across while kinda laughing at the absurdity, "I'd know you were a man straightaway."

FictionalCharacter · 27/01/2023 21:27

It’s good, but she only partly gets it. I don’t think she understands quite how much Dylan is taking the piss, and that he’s a fetishist. Women don’t get giddily excited waving tampons at the camera like that. He’s laughing in our faces, while a legion of young women fawn over him.
She talks about having no problem with the people who transition to be a “full woman”, which isn’t possible.

MenopausalMe · 27/01/2023 22:02

Anyone wanting to boycott the owners of tampax here’s the brand list

www.pg.co.uk/brands/

Tampax (obviously)
Always
Pantene (already boycotting)
Aussie Hair Care
Herbal Essences
Heads & Shoulders
Olay

Pampers
Ariel
Daz
Fairy
Bold
Lenor
Ambi Pur
Febreze
Flash
Viakal
ClearBlue
Old Spice
Fixodent
Vicks
Seven seas
Oral B

The clothes washing & cleaning products are annoying as I do (did) use them but switching to eco products now

SammyScrounge · 29/01/2023 16:40

I'm finding it difficult to decide which man is the more nauseating: the one with the jolly hockey sticks smile; or the one with the faux
empathy for the stigmatised.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 29/01/2023 20:19

It's only ever tampons, not pads etc, because many men think that anything being inserted into a vagina must immediately turn women on.

It's a sex thing, like always with the fetishists.

EpicChaos · 29/01/2023 20:30

CharlotteSometimes1 · 27/01/2023 18:00

Good point!

According to one of our number and spoken about in one of their youtube vids, they are used in the other orifice!
As a result of this, the terf in question, recommends carrying tabasco, or chilli sauce in your handbag and adding a liberal dash to the bin in the ladies loos.
Obviously, i am not asking, or encouraging anyone to do that, i'm just saying what was said in the video.

I don't know that it's about women beng turned on. I doubt whether they consider women's feelings at all.

It's a matter of the men getting turned on by the idea of anything being inserted into a vagina.

lechiffre55 · 29/01/2023 21:15

Reminds me of the Candian tampon fetishist who spends an enormous amount of time fantasizing about helping young girls insert tampons.

BlueBooh · 29/01/2023 21:36

It reminds me of a thread a couple of years ago I think, where a poster asked if anyone had ever been asked for a tampon in a public toilet.

Not one woman had, well maybe a couple of dodgy posters said they had, but I think they also commented on the woman's lipstick or something. Anyway it was definitely something that never happened.

As women we know exactly what we do when we're caught out unexpectedly and it ain't asking a randomer for one! Which I'm not sharing here, because we know right? As women!

It's probably as common as pillow fights in our negligees!
