Oh FFS. I despair for our young people if they can’t even negotiate using the toilets without a meltdown.

Madamecastafiore · 13/01/2023 19:46

Only just getting used to being non binary 🙄

RoseslnTheHospital · 13/01/2023 19:49

For "hurt" read "felt a bit sad", no actual physical harm was done to this female person.

The staff at this bar should be trained to be aware that not all disabilities are visible and to hand over the radar key to anyone that asks, rather than to interrogate them or ask them to prove their disability.

On the flip side, people without a disability/need should not be asking to use the accessible toilet.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 13/01/2023 19:50

Highlights how some feel they have the right to trample over hard fought for rights for a protected group. Those with disabilities rely on disabled toilets.

Baldieheid · 13/01/2023 19:51

Ah yes. First time anyone ever said "no" to her, do you reckon?

bellinisurge · 13/01/2023 19:54

I have MS. I don't use disabled toilets unless I absolutely have to - bladder and mobility issues from time to time. I want to protect the space for people who are more disabled than me because I can normally use the non- disabled loos without a problem.
Fuck off out of our spaces you wanker. Cosplaying a urinary leash. You are clearly a woman and do you should fucking well know your history about the actual urinary leash. Fuck off and when you've got there fuck off some more

VaddaABeetch · 13/01/2023 20:01

@bellinisurge well said

BlackeyedSusan · 13/01/2023 20:09

^Well that told 'em!

Seriously though, accessible toilets are there for those with disabilities.

Also have a variable condition...which requires accessible toilets occasionally.

WhereYouLeftIt · 13/01/2023 20:12

"Charlie - who has recently come out as non-binary - says they feel 'uncomfortable' using gendered toilets ... Charlie, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I don't like using public toilets - I feel awkward going into the women's toilets as I don't look like a woman. I also get insecure in the men's toilets in case they see my chest."

Oh, Charlie. 'I don't look like a woman'. I'll bet you actually do.

GettingItOutThere · 13/01/2023 20:12

i dont understand how you "come out" as non binary?

I am very old school, you have men (who have dicks), women (who do not!), and trans who are m-f or f-m and until they do not have the relvent genetalia they are what they are born as

offensive probably but its what everyone is thinking

Abccde · 13/01/2023 20:20

Males have absolutely no problem using the ladies, so why can't someone who is clearly female not just grow up and go to the toilet ffs.

WeeBisom · 13/01/2023 20:20

I have an invisible disability which does sometimes necessitate the use of a disabled toilet. I would be incredibly pissed off if staff looked at me and said it was only for people with “actual” disabilities. I do wonder if the staff said this unprompted or if the individual involved announced to them that she was non binary and that’s why she needed to use the special loo.

However, disabled toilets are not equivalent to “gender neutral” toilets and shouldn’t be treated as a space to accommodate non-disabled people who have special identities.

the rights of disabled people rightly trump religious rights when it comes to transport (service dogs are allowed even if a religious driver objects). In this situation the rights of disabled people should similarly come first.

Abccde · 13/01/2023 20:21

And absolutely should they be using the disabled toilet if they are not disabled.

Abccde · 13/01/2023 20:22

*Should not

Wibbly1008 · 13/01/2023 20:23

Being non binary is not a disability, I don’t get it.

backtoyoutom · 13/01/2023 20:30

Madamecastafiore · 13/01/2023 19:46

Only just getting used to being non binary 🙄

Ha! Wtf.

PriamFarrl · 13/01/2023 20:32

I have a family member who is trans. They tend to use the disabled toilets as they don’t want to upset people in the male or female toilets, but having a tantrum because someone says no is pathetic.

LtMoose · 13/01/2023 20:39

@WhereYouLeftIt that's exactly what I thought!

ReedRite · 13/01/2023 20:42

Why can nobody tolerate feeling ‘uncomfortable’ these days?

I mean, come on, Charlie, love, you weren’t sent down a salt mine or water-boarded. Toughen up a bit. Life’s full of doing stuff you don’t want to do, that puts you out of hyper comfort zone. Deal.

ReedRite · 13/01/2023 20:44

Your, not hyper.

Must check the crazy autocorrect more often!

MagpiePi · 13/01/2023 20:49

Wibbly1008 · 13/01/2023 20:23

Being non binary is not a disability, I don’t get it.

But being non- binary means you are more special and your wants (not needs!) override all the boring binary people, even if they are disabled.

ThingsChristmasJumper · 13/01/2023 20:53

Well they shouldn’t!

NotTerfNorCis · 13/01/2023 20:57

If Charlie had been born twenty years earlier, the thought of being 'non-binary' would never have entered Charlie's head.

SleekMamma · 13/01/2023 21:00

"Law student Charlie"
Good luck Charlie getting your degree, I think you're going to need it. Bless

The biggest complainants IME are always Law students!
