The man next door gave us these treats for our cats.
I couldn't believe the LGBT supportive message on the label.
So that's another thing for me to boycott.

@ResisterRex i bloody knew it! I'd heard of MORF, came across them after Mermaids broke, sending out fecking binders, but the stuff I found was very old.

@IcakethereforeIam, I clearly remember it because I was shocked there was no investigation.

Here we are, five years later, and one charity is being investigated for things like posting secret binders.

But it's not MORF..!

I have boycotted (sorry, personcotted) Dreamies ever since they started this nonsense.
Sainsbugs sell some very nice own brand cat treats, as well as Felix ones. My cat adores Felix cheese ones and Sainsbugs chicken or mixed meat ones.

Mine would kill for Dreamies.
They do not understand I am a proud TERF.

Although as I only ever but the orange discus dreamies in the maybe tubs i had been unaware of this.

Every cat deserves to have their temperature taken with a well-lubed thermometer.

Yeah, this has been the case for a couple of years. I remember that at first, I thought, "yay! Let's celebrate gay and trans rights!" and I may even have bought an extra sachet. Then when I got home, I read the back of the packet and saw that the donation from the company has zero to do with sales. Dreamies donates a flat amount to the LGBT Foundation, and in return they get the right to use the logo on their packaging.

Shortly afterwards, I found myself wondering whether I would have gone, "yay! Let's protect cats!" with equal enthusiasm, had the packets of cat treats had the logo of a charity that works with needy feral/semi-feral cats. If not, why not?

This intrusive thought was probably the result of seeing a local cat charity's desperate appeal for cat food, and it won't go away. I started buying a budget competitor brand of cat treats, and earmarking the money saved for the local cat charity.

I don't know how to link heartwrenching video appeals, so have a couple of stills.

I know, I'm such a homophobe to think that men can pay for their own lube or maybe abstain from that particular firm of sex until they can. 🙃

Nobody needs anal sex. It's a particularly spoilt, modern idea that we can't possibly live without certain sensual pleasures for the time when we can't afford them. If you want to pay to make strangers' shags a bit smoother, you do that. Personally, I've got other causes I prefer.

To be honest my real anger is that there are so many worthwhile cat-related charities to support including Cat's Protection, Celia Hammond, etc. and also schemes to assist people with vet care for much-loved cats that might otherwise be euthanised.

The Dreamies' decision seems like cynical marketing to me - jumping on the rainbow bandwagon.

I asked them on Twitter a couple of years ago why they weren't supporting a cat charity instead of this nonsense and got some bland, generic garbage about LGBT rights being human rights and they will always stand with them.

Yeah....that's not what I asked, is it? So I won't buy these. Whiskas Temptations for my poor deprived cat.

Is that still how it's done? I confess when my idiot was caught licking a cooling chocolate fountain, I used the same in-the-ear one I use for the kids... (and then stayed up all night feeding him water, because 2 licks of watered down (oiled-down?) milk chocolate was still enough to get the poor guy's heart racing and for him to decide he was definitely dying)

Mine get the Aldi version. And I pray they never find out there's branded cat treats or I'll be bankrupted.

Really?! Oh, holy moly. I didn't know cats couldn't do chocolate. Mine drank the remains of the kids' breakfast coco hoops milk yesterday and seems totally fine. She is powered on pure spite, though.
