NHS - Women’s rights compromised by gender ideology

But when it comes to conflicting rights in a public institution like the NHS, decisions must be made with democratic consensus and full understanding that certain policies cannot be blindly endorsed simply because one minority is shouting the loudest for them.’ She said there ‘can be no compromise when it comes to women’s rights’.

another interesting article from the DM based upon report by Nimco Ali, the outgoing government tsar on tackling violence against women

Not to take anything away from Nimco Ali, but the report was written by Lottie Moore, a brilliant young woman at Policy Exchange. Nimco wrote the foreword but credit to Lottie for the bulk of the work.

Thanks, noted.

Thank you for all the links. So much distress caused by deliberate conflation of sex and gender and lack of clarity in the Equality Act.

Jesus, look at the map on that petition - I guess Scotland has had enough.

You know what's seriously compromised the NHS? Years of Tory dismantling and underfunding. Shouting about that, are we? No. Cowards.

Oh dear. Does the reality of women speaking out about women's rights bring you out in a rash?

Bless.

@TheNoWord thanks for that - my OP just picked up the news article which mentioned Nimco but just referred to the policy exchange report rather than the author by name.

I know someone who has refused surgery because of the NHS mixed sex ward/ care policy as she needs to be sure intimate care and her ward will be female only- this NHS policy is clearly negatively affecting vulnerable women across the country.
Labour Women's declaration have written a twitter thread about this

and so has the writer of the report eg linking to an FOI response from NHS England

@TheYummyPatler *A medically trained clinician who actually believes they have actually changed sex on issue of a GRC is a problem and probably shouldn’t be allowed to treat any patients on the basis that their understanding of human biology is fucked." In the States Rachel Levine now sets policy with even greater reach...

Have you seen this one? See if you can tell which part of the UK has recently voted away women's rights:

As for that silly and childish term 'ally' - it's the language of the playground and student councils, and it means 'I am taking sides'. It has no place in public services that rely upon impartiality and values not bogged down in playground gang politics and using others to express yourself.

This! The term ally implies a war from the off. It really doesn’t seem professional to be using it in relation to political issues in public services. Surely those of us who work in public services should be politically impartial, neutral rather than allying with any particular side.

@Appletreefarmyard thank you for the full link

this is even more depressing

In November 2022, Dr Navina Evans, Chief Executive of Health Education England (HEE), committed the organisation to ‘to become active trans and non-binary allies.’16 The statement references ‘the public debate’ around trans rights, but proceeds to ‘ally’ itself to just one side of it

utter bloody capture.

I thought I couldn't be more shocked, but I am floored by this - this is Health Education England's National Diversity, Inclusion & Participation Manager, Mahroof Hussain:

www.gbnews.uk/news/revealed-rotherham-rape-gangs-cover-up-councillor-holds-senior-diversity-and-inclusion-nhs-role/416258

A former Labour Party politician who resigned his cabinet position at Rotherham Council in 2015 amid reports that he 'pushed back' discussions on the ethnicity of grooming gangs now works as a senior diversity and inclusion manager in a major NHS body, GB News can reveal.
Mahroof Hussain was embroiled in the Rotherham grooming gangs scandal in 2015 when Dame Louise Casey’s review into the council named him and went on to conclude that the authority was in 'denial' and warped by a culture of bullying, sexism and cover-ups.

Is a pro-rape agenda actually a job requirement in senior NHS diversity roles??!

Hussain spoke at a West Yorks Police event on hate crime, apparently.

I am shouting about that. The NHS is being privatized by stealth by the Tories- including pink ones like T. Blair who introduced the Tory Public Finance Initiative, which has led to crippling costs.

You're wasting your time explaining; that was a 'squirrel!' attempt to stop women saying inconvenient truths out loud. Like the 'you can't protest about women being raped in prisons until you've sorted out x, y and z to my satisfaction' thing which is an oh so classic MRA line. And my current favourite piece of batshittery: 'if you don't think women should be raped by serious sex offender men in prisons, then the answer is that no prisons should exist at all in this fantasy I've just sniffed off a piece of someone else's twitter feed'

There is honestly less and less point in trying to rationally engage with people high on this new age D&D game. The important people to speak to are MPs and those making policy, and 'educate' them about critical thinking, actual evidence, and not blindly believing that everyone who makes big eyes and tells sad anecdotes and mentions statistics a lot is (shock horror) in good faith and telling the truth.
