However, it later transpired that she had been wearing some form of fake pubic wig.

According to the Scotsman, police did not arrest the individual immediately, however, the force has since received complaints and enquiries are ongoing.

In Britain and Ireland, you can still see a sheela-na-gig protecting the entrance to some old churches. @Plasmodesmata thanks for the link, it's an interesting read. I find I'm less annoyed by bits of anatomy being named after dead white anatomists than by the vagina called after the Latin for sheath.
