Saw this in a very prominent position in the children's section of my local library. Says for 5+. I despair.
It includes template letters for sending to your teachers and parent friends demanding that you respect your child's pronouns.

Random man snuck in behind a sentance on that last post.

Is nothing safe?

Yes I’ve pondered trying to start a viral trend for some kind of meta-level, super woke “gender identity” that is based on your actual lived experience of your sexed body. You know like how being black or disabled is based on your physical lived reality and pretending to be it when you’re not is actually seen as quite rude and insulting and fake. If we could make such a “sexed lived experience” identity into a fashionable genderwoo category, imagine how offended people would be if anyone tried to appropriate it!

Terrifying. They are so coming after the children. Bastards.

I honestly thought the op had faked this as a joke until I saw the other examples.

A mum at school took her son to see Shlomo (a beat boxer who does kids shows, and is now ‘non binary’) at the Edinburgh Fringe. He got her son up to the front and asked him what he identifies as. I’d have been furious but she seemed to think it was fine. 😕Her son is four btw.

Reminds me of Victorian books I have read when there was so much emphasis on etiquette and social ritual, which corner of your visiting card you had to turn down to indicate you would accept a return visit etc etc.

Maybe societies that are above subsistence level develop these kinds of rituals whether we think they make any sense or not.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Most 5 year olds not really all that interested in 'etiquette' no matter how 'gently' it is indoctrinated taught.

I think I would have been tempted to reshelve the book among the 'practical accounting for apiarists' or 'how to build your own monkey wrench ' section, or to have accidentally dropped it on the floor and kicked it under a shelf. What a pile of steaming dross.

I was going to say check it out and keep renewing it but this is a much better idea.

These kinds of books seem to fall down the back of the shelves a lot in my local library.

These kinds of books seem to fall down the back of the shelves a lot in my local library.

It's the stability of the words within them. It's like the library knows the books that are making a mockery of its purpose, to be a receptacle, (bugger that's not the right worc is it ? !? Who knows words are so meaningless now, and autocorrect had abandoned me since I publicly insulted it) of knowledge. And so the less stable books, naturally, fall, quickly and sharply into bins and behind shelves and into the middle of unread tomes or to languish on the shelves in never read sections.

It's nature.

I was a magic cat when I was five.

”Thonself” yeah good luck with that. You can print books for kids and stick them in libraries but you can’t make the world believe what you believe just by demanding that it be so.

This petition is against teaching gender ideology in schools - the same motivation that is behind these books.
