What a terrible person she is:

Just wondering how the trans activists are going to spin this to make it all about them. I expect they'll find a way.

crikey

she is both very rich and very generous isn't she?

Boiledbeetle · 18/12/2022 11:07

Prof Chandran, director of the clinic, said: "Our research is shaped by listening to, and involving, individuals who are living with these tough conditions.

"The Anne Rowling Clinic's vision is to offer everyone with MS or other neurodegenerative diseases, such as MND, the opportunity to participate in a suite of clinical studies and trials.

"This incredibly far-sighted and generous donation will unlock the potential of personalised medicine for people with MS in Scotland and further afield."

University vice chancellor Prof Peter Mathieson said they were "immensely honoured".

"This inspiring donation will fund a whole new generation of researchers who are focused on discovering and delivering better treatments and therapies for patients," he added.

She's on a roll isn't she. Good on you Jo.

No doubt they'll say something, but she is such a generous person. Go JK

UrsulaPandress · 18/12/2022 11:08

I ❤️ JKR

Dwrcegin · 18/12/2022 11:08

Love JKR.

Surely, it'd be impossible to put a negative spin on this news?

theseriousmoonlight · 18/12/2022 11:09

Just when I thought I couldn't love her more. What a woman. My mum has MS. It's a terrible disease and has taken so much from her.

ImAvingOops · 18/12/2022 11:10

It must drive her critics nuts that she is so nice and generous and good. And too rich for them to affect her income.

Berthatydfil · 18/12/2022 11:11

What a bigot she is.

(Not really)

FOJN · 18/12/2022 11:11

JKR walks the walk rather than just talks the talk. I bloody love her.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/12/2022 11:12

To be accurate, another £15 million, as she established it with £10 million originally.

She's a truly admirable woman who made her fortune through sheer creativity and imagination and now spends it wisely and well.

Elfholloway · 18/12/2022 11:18

Wow, she is some woman. I would love to see her get the highest honours in the land.

titchy · 18/12/2022 11:18

Yeah well it's named after her MOTHER, which is just another way she can emphasise how TW can't be mothers so she's obviously a transphobe. Or something.

Sazzasez · 18/12/2022 11:19

Just waiting to hear how she’s ONLY doing it to spite trans people or something.

Iamclearlyamug · 18/12/2022 11:22

What a truly incredible WOMAN she is

brightdoodles · 18/12/2022 11:26

That's great, but you do realise that's a 2019 news article? She's probably given them another £25M since then...

catandcoffee · 18/12/2022 11:35

Sad her Mother died very young.

TheBiologyStupid · 18/12/2022 12:08

Women (the real ones) are twice as likely to get a diagnosis of MS, so there's that I suppose....!

TheBiologyStupid · 18/12/2022 12:12

The research centre is in the University of Edinburgh, so that could trigger the little darlings after the events of last week.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 18/12/2022 12:12

I have MS. I am very grateful that Jo Rowling exists. For this and her GC activity.

JubileeTrifle · 18/12/2022 12:15

I love the Twitter comments where they are going to cancel her and make her poor.

Oh no! I'm so sorry - it popped up in my feed this morning and I didn't check the date. Assumed it was a new article.

Never mind - good to be reminded of what an all-round excellent person JKR is.

Easy done OP not to worry. 10m in 2010 another 15m in 2019 as pp poster said she may well have given more again since then.

She really should.

picklemewalnuts · 18/12/2022 17:10

As one friend has MS and another MND, it's good to know people like JKR exist. She does so much good. Imagine having been able to create something that gives such joy, and earns so much that she's been able to hugely impact several different fields.
