Andrew Doyle blocked me on Twitter. No idea why as my account is private, but I don't tweet anyway, I just use it to follow news. I wasn't following him and I've never interacted with him either.

I don’t think he will. The purity spiral on the Left will be a potential problem for him to navigate.

Will it be a recorded interview that LOJ gets to comment and edit before it goes out. Andrew Doyle is a master of debate.

I would definitely tune in for this. Owen jones interviews people with v different views to himself on his own YouTube channel and does so really well from what I've seen (I have only seen 2 or 3) so it's good to hear he is doing this. I don't read his columns but in those interviews I've seen he has a v different persona to how he comes across on twitter. I quite liked him (confessions of a mumsnetter!).

I found myself agreeing with LOJ the other day on the topic of Meghan Markle (of all people). Felt very odd. 😆

I think things like this are actually very positive and a sign a lot of people on the tra no debate side are taking the opportunity to row back a bit ( I think as the penny has dropped they are not on the right side of history after all)

I’ve heard Andrew Doyle say that he is pro free speech and against cancel culture where people lose their jobs etc but will happily block people on Twitter as that is what the block button is for and people should be free to say what they want but he doesn’t have to hear it.
He basically thinks everyone should just block people rather than mass reporting to try and get Twitter to suspend them. I think that’s probably a good approach.

If your account is private that’ll probably be why he blocked you. Many people on twitter block those with private accounts because you can see them but they can’t see who you are or what you are saying.

I will be fascinated to see how this plays out.
