One of my lasts posts before the Twitter ban hammer was to tell Dan that he was daft as a brush 😁

They are right, it is "messed up" but not perhaps in the way they mean....

Farmageddon · 06/12/2022 17:11

FFS - 'Feel safer',i.e. want to be validated.

Also when did the term become transgender female? If this person is biologically male then the term transwoman is more appropriate.
They've already appropriated woman - are they gunning for the word female too?

Circumferences · 06/12/2022 17:14

Is this in America?
In the UK it's customary to put a sign up "male employees may clean and check this facility". They should apply this in all outlets because you can't really blame an employee for doing their job .

Also, I can only assume that because this TW uses heavily photoshopped images on their profile we're all expected to believe "you can never tell" gender ideology myth number five. So women can't object to certain males in the facility, only other certain males...

Helleofabore · 06/12/2022 17:15

transgender female

I have noticed it more and more.

I don't know who started it first. But it can only be a claim to be more of a 'woman' than those claiming 'transwoman', surely? That they are somehow more valid on a spectrum of validity or something?

FrancescaContini · 06/12/2022 17:15

I know it’s not the point but does this person often take selfies in the women’s toilets?

As for feeling “super uncomfortable”…

eddiemairswife · 06/12/2022 17:17

I get muddled, is a transwomen really a man, or a woman who wants to be a man?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 06/12/2022 17:18

Yep, as predicted by many wise women. We are not allowed to have any words for ourselves.

Man can complain about other men being in the womens, but women aren't allowed to complain about men like him being in there. Fuckwits.

I'd feel safer with the cleaner.

Yes, this has gone on for a few years now.
It doesn't help that the definition of "transwomen" seems to popularly be "male to female trans person" so literally they become female according to many.

Are they gunning for 'female', too?

Indeed. The goal is to linguistically erase the female sex so that it becomes impossible to talk about the individuals belonging to it by using clear and simple terms for them. Which, of course, also has the added effect of invalidating the way most people define such words as 'female' and 'male'.

Now I don't know if I should choose 'female'/'woman' in various surveys as I don't know what the survey creator means by those terms. What am I signing up to? Liking dresses, high heels, and makeup? Feeling feminine (passive, submissive, emotional and nurturing)? Or just knowing that my sex is female and that my experiences of being female are based on living in a sexed body in a society which treats people differently based on the apparent sex of that body and on the actual sex of that body?

Feminism needs that last definition, trans activists not so much...

nauticant · 06/12/2022 17:18

I have noticed it more and more.

So have I. Including on the BBC where it's not uncommon.

It appears to be a “thing” for tranwomen to take selfies in toilets.

presumably as evidence they “passed” and all of us ignorant woman didn’t even notice.

I’ve seen quite a few where the selfie includes knob out.

That's why I think the term trans-identified male is more appropriate, as it's factual. But apparently that hurts people's feelings.
Never mind that us actual women may have many hurt feelings over our spaces and language being co-opted.

Frecklefacestrawberry · 06/12/2022 17:31

How does Daniel know the cleaner is a male? Is Daniel a bigot?

nauticant · 06/12/2022 17:37

It's one of special features of gender identity ideology. If you're a true believer, you can ascribe gender identities to others as you see fit. If you're not then it's utterly forbidden because to do so can erase their existence.

Revolting.

Christ knows why they’re in the women’s toilets if they have a dick.

IcakethereforeIam · 06/12/2022 18:03

It might actually be worse, tw appropriating women's fear of sexual assault by men. I think Gray Slavery wrote something and there was something in the book by the tw that was on a women's literary shortlist. I think it's either part of the fetish or a 'look at me. I too fear men, fellow women' <insert Steve Buscemi with skateboard pic.>

It is confusing. Some people use 'trans identified male' for 'transwoman', or 'male with a 'woman' gender identity', but if you use that acronym on here you are likely to get deleted.

Transwomen are male.

There was a trend for transwomen-with-sword selfies in women's toilets.

Pecanpie12 · 06/12/2022 18:12

If you have a penis, you should not be in a female toilet. Simple. If you have had the surgery, by all means go ahead, I don't like the idea of a man dressed as a women with a penis in the same toilet as me. They could be a pedophile or sex pest for all I know. But then I guess I'll also be slated for feeling this way. Hmm.

I mean even if they've had surgery they're still male, so they they should use the male toilets.

Igmum · 06/12/2022 18:21

I feel sorry for the cleaner. He's only trying to do his job. (I also wouldn't want to be in any kind of confined space with Daniel.)

Once upon a time I'd have said the same.

Now, I think that women aren't men with a bit removed; that some women will be alarmed or excluded, penis or no penis; and that we can't tell if surgery has happened until it's too late.

So it's a hard no to all adult males. Slow hand clap, TRAs.
