US rowing - throw women’s only rowing under a bus by accepting men who have gone through male puberty but are now magically women. But when it comes to mixed boats of 8 the 4 women have to ba e been born female. Why? Because otherwise it’s unfair on the men in the other boats. Riiiiiiiiiight. Got it. 😡

The mixed event is properly inclusive, the non female half is open so TW can still participate.

I note the mixed event is 'masters only' - I wonder if their rationality and fairness in this category is partly because even misogynistic chumps can see when people who used to row in their younger male team displace those who used to row in the women's boat?

I've said previously that these mixed teams will be what finally peaks sport. Can you imagine 2 blokes in swimming costumes competing in the mixed swimming teams or mixed triathlon at the Olympics - never going to happen as that's not fair on men.

I have an image of those muscly rowers frowning as they see the other team has snuck in a couple of transwomen, and I can hear them too, little lips wobbling, trying not to cry, sounding like seven year olds the world over “ It’s not faaaaaair.”

Well the hierarchy is achingly clear.

1. biological men who identify as men
2. biological men who identify as women
3. biological women whatever they identify as

If group 1 is disadvantaged by group 2 then sex matters. But group 2 can be women when it is only group 3 they disadvantage.

I read this when it first came out.

It seems to be 'following' the World Rowing guidelines.

They have stashed in there that these guidelines will be reviewed every 12 months officially.

I think they are either very weak in regards to power to influence the world organisation and/or are fully ideologically captured.

These are obviously not exclusive and could both be true.

What has also become noticable (this is not meant to be a derail OP) is that cycling events are becoming increasingly visible with male place getters. I tried to find a tweet thread by Alison Sydor the other day that had the current place getters and it is rapidly growing.

I hope that those examples from cycling could be used for all the sporting organisations.

This isn’t ideological capture. This is men wanting an easy life until it affects them.

Funny how when men are the ones affected, then suddenly everybody is awfully clear that sex isn't a spectrum, we can accurately identify the sex of humans, and males do have physical advantage in sport. It's quite a miracle, isn't it?

I think it's pretty common in sports where you have had in the past mixed teams, that they are well aware of the issues in sex differences around performance. It's the same in mixed tennis, or rugby.

Somehow there is a failure to take that information and apply it when these questions about transwomen come up. I don't think it's really been the same people making the decisions.

Which comes down to really at heart, seeing the true purpose of females as resources male people are entitled to make use of for their own needs. And the ones you can safely dump work and inconvenience on to spare yourself.
