Just posting a reminder of the causes CIN promote...

Posted too soon. Sorry I didn't realise this had been moved to the Feminism board. Please ignore my comment, I don't wish to engage with anyone on here.

TheKeatingFive · 16/11/2022 19:18

I don't wish to engage with anyone on here.

Why not?

What are you afraid of?

nilsmousehammer · 16/11/2022 19:21

I do hope you didn't catch anything in your brief visit.

Women having rights, boundaries, equality, horrible diseases like that

Witchcraftandhokum · 16/11/2022 19:23

TheKeatingFive

The irony of that comment has made me laugh!

TheKeatingFive · 16/11/2022 19:25

I would support any research into this after multiple suicide attempts by my transgender nephew.

Its not research you're supporting though. A lot of these charities aren't big on research.

Serious question though, and I'm asking this genuinely. Don't you think that your nephew deserves to be served by charities that take safeguarding seriously?

Don't you think that if these charities are purportedly acting in your nephews interests, they should be able to stand by their own medical expertise?

Have you read the interim Cass report? Do you think that charities for TG children should be familiar with the contents?

TheKeatingFive · 16/11/2022 19:26

The irony of that comment has made me laugh!

No seriously, it would be great if you actually tried to engage.

What are you afraid of here?

Witchcraftandhokum · 16/11/2022 19:28

For fucks sake. Two replies that massively highlight why I don't want to engage. I don't wish to discuss my nephews depression and suicide attempts with who just take the piss out of how he feels. I've been here before and won't do it again. So enough.

Who is taking the piss out of how he feels?

TheKeatingFive · 16/11/2022 19:29

And if you could address my earlier questions, I'd be really grateful thanks

Witchcraftandhokum · 16/11/2022 19:32

I'm not particularly bothered about your greatfulness.

TheKeatingFive · 16/11/2022 19:33

Ok, cool.

It's just a shame that you won't engage with some reasonable questions. I honestly would love to hear your response to them.

TheMarzipanDildo · 16/11/2022 09:02

The concern is that they are actually creating more problems (I.e, by supporting the absolutely bonkers and self professed non-experts Mermaids).

This!

howmanybicycles · 16/11/2022 19:36

She already gets stared at by typical presenting women

What on earth is a typical presenting woman?! This is not the 1940's!

You raised MH issues and then say you don't want to discuss them.

I have never, ever seen anyone taking the piss out of a teenager's mental health on FWR.

The CIN money won't be going on research. It may be going to organisations who will encourage your vulnerable relative to pursue unevidenced and irreversible medical pathways.

flashbac · 16/11/2022 19:47

So they moved my thread to the naughty corner. How surprising...

This is what I don't understand.

Wouldn't you want to understand as much as you could about experimental and irreversible medical treatments before loved ones embark upon them? Wouldn't you be interrogating the Cass report? Wouldn't you be horrified by mermaids announcing their lack of any medical expertise and the child safeguarding lapses that have come to light?

Gender confused children deserve the highest standards of care and support. What they're getting is a million miles from that.

Indeed. And Keating's genuine questions require answers:

Don't you think that your nephew deserves to be served by charities that take safeguarding seriously?

Don't you think that if these charities are purportedly acting in your nephews interests, they should be able to stand by their own medical expertise?

Have you read the interim Cass report? Do you think that charities for TG children should be familiar with the contents?

YY

How is it a bad thing to point that out? If you want the best for your child, surely you want gold standard care that has a great track record of successful outcomes.

Baffling.
