From twitter (USA). Two videos. The entitlement, misogyny and delusion is off the charts.

This is a very scary, dangerous man.

That is very scary.

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 08/11/2022 09:31

Saw this on Reddit - terrifying. Terrifying that he repeats as if learnt from a crib sheet the same excuses - minimising everything!! I was chasing her a few blocks… well women like to be raped… well how do you explain porn.. she should do porn… she needs free will.. I wasn’t chasing her I was just going down those blocks. The end bit is insane… he needs to be locked up right now. I hope so much those police have done that.

ArabellaScott · 08/11/2022 09:40

Clearly needs to be sectioned, and prosecuted.

ArabellaScott · 08/11/2022 09:40

Or whatever the US equivalent of sectioning is.

Datun · 08/11/2022 09:42

That is scary. These Incels are looking at violent pornography and thinking it's bloody real.

She's gay? And he calls it woke shit?

And how many times have the women on here called out the lyrics to baby it's cold outside, too. He is using them as advice - she says no he says yes and it's just game.

And he's deliberately making that video to play to all the other men like him.

It's so bloody disturbing. 'I'm chasing this woman in my car and stalking her because of BDSM and all women fantasise about rape.'

ArabellaScott · 08/11/2022 09:43

TBH it looks like serious mental health issues to me, Datun.

Maybe. But Incels talk like that.

Datun · 08/11/2022 09:46

There's a lot of, I don't know what to call it, socialisation I guess, around giving certain men the idea that the more persistent they are, in the teeth of opposition, the more chance of success they'll have.

ScreamingMeMe · 08/11/2022 09:46

Yes, probably a combination of the two. A man with serious mental health issues could easily be drawn into the incel community.

Speaking of which, I haven't watched the CH4 documentary yet, but it looks interesting.

Yes it does look interesting, although I'm not sure if I can bring myself to watch it.

from what I can gather, the authorities appear to be taking the incel community more seriously now. They're dangerous.

This man is dangerous.

it was a nice surprise to see those police officers reaction, though.

Boiledbeetle · 08/11/2022 10:17

I had one of these a few years back. He lived a couple of doors away from me.

He didn't play songs to me, but he would wait each morning for me to leave for work and then try to open my car door as I was trying to drive off. He'd knock on my door trying to give me stuffed toys and pizza.

I finally lost my shit when I got home to a letter from him telling me I would be his forever and that basically he wasn't going to give up until I succumbed to his charms.

The first two police men treated it all as some big joke. I saw them afterwards leaving his house all joking and laughing together as they left!

Then I came home to a second letter actually sat on my internal staircase. Despite me repeatedly telling the builders I had in at the time to always keep the door locked because of stalker bloke they later admitted they hadn't been locking it whilst they were working as they hadn't taken the threat this guy posed seriously. So this guy had actually managed to get inside my house.

This time it was two police women who came out. They came back to me after they'd spoken to him and said I'd have no more problems with him. I'd love to know exactly what they said to him as he moved out a couple of days later and he's never troubled me since.

I'm so glad that the police men in the video in the opening post reacted as they did. I'm glad they "got" it. As the police men who came to as me originally just thought it was all a big laugh.

And yes I know 'not all men' but seriously im so sick of entitled men thinking that women are just there to help bring their wet dreams into reality.

Crikey, boiled, that sounds absolutely terrifying.

Yes, often, other men simply won't get it. The guy looks like a sap in love to them. Not some dangerous, entitled bloke with twice the strength of a woman, intent on overcoming her objections to him.

Boiledbeetle · 08/11/2022 10:33

@Datun it was terrifying. I can put up with a lot of shit, but stalking is a whole different ballgame.

Unsurprisingly most of the women i talked to at the time got it and most of the men thought it was funny, a compliment, or even that I should go on a date with the stalker!

KILM · 08/11/2022 10:36

@Boiledbeetle im so sorry that happened to you, thats bloody awful.

FOJN · 08/11/2022 10:38

That is absolutely terrifying, this man is a serious danger to the woman he is stalking. Whether he has mental health issues or not he is still dangerous and it's men like this who end up killing the women they stalk. The only good thing about his delusion is he appears to recording evidence for the prosecution. I hope the woman he is stalking will easily get a restraining order and the support from an organisation to help her navigate the law and manage her own safety because the police are too often useless in these cases.

The UK does have a National Stalking Helpline if anyone reading this needs advice and support.

For anyone who needs convincing about how dangerous this type of man can be you can find the Strictly Stalking podcast on apple, Spotify etc and on YouTube.

Yes, that's what I mean. How many films show the man persisting in the teeth of resistance right up until the end when she finally caves. And they live happily ever after.

The most celebrated romantic film in history, gone with the wind, had the heroine actually being raped, and falling in love the next morning with her rapist!

Datun · 08/11/2022 10:43

What gets me about the guy in the clip is how open he is. Actually explaining to the police how women want to be raped. Which might well be a mental health issue. But the sentiment is far from unusual.

Crispsmakemehappy · 08/11/2022 10:54

That’s scary to watch

Circumferences · 08/11/2022 11:13

I've noticed a lot of Bill Murray films have him being a total piece of sh*, yet somehow the female lead seems to always fall in love with him.
Hollywood has a lot to answer for really. I only started noticing these things since getting interested in feminism. Oh how it's ruined films for me!

A lot of John Hughes films from the 80s are like that too.

Love, Actually has some creepy parts.

There's loads come to think of it.

@Boiledbeetle I'm so sorry this happened to you, how scary xx

Yes, having now watched the CH4 documentary, that's a common incel belief.

Actually why I found Frozen quite useful. My DD and I have discussed love bombing, romance and men being 'charmers' using exactly Elsa's storyline to illustrate.

Yea he's completely convinced he's in the right and his thinking is normal and anyone watching the video will instantly think so too.
That is very scary.

ArabellaScott · 08/11/2022 12:15

Incel rhetoric is terrifying and yes, dangerous and yes, may well intersect with mental health issues in many cases.

Just in practical terms of how to deal with this man, I'd suggest he needs taken off the streets and treated for MH issues. Whereas probably common or garden incels need a different approach.

Yes, totally upfront about discussing his BDSM rape fantasy porn.

And people wonder why women get up in arms at being called pearl clutching kink shamers. And why stigma can be beneficial.

This man appears to genuinely think there is absolutely no stigma attached to him getting off on women being raped.

i'm still quite surprised, and pleased obviously, about the cops reaction, though.
