You don't need a vagina to be a woman

I agree with them. You don't need a vagina to be a woman...

So there's no need for the NHS to provide vaginoplasties and hormone blockers then. 😏 Right? I mean, it's their own argument.

Well if being a woman has nothing to do with your body, it makes one wonder why some trans people obsess about changing their body to the opposite ummm........opposite 'thing' (sorry, we don't have a word to describe sexes any more).

orbitalcrisis · 04/11/2022 09:07

I guess because some trans people hate the way they look and long to look the way they feel.

If you had a growth that you didn't like the look of, you'd want it removed even though it won't change who you are on the inside. Many women want their breasts rebuilt after a mastectomy or shave off their body hair, we all have something about our bodies we'd change. And if I had a penis or even just a penis looking growth, I'd want it removed! Wouldn't you?

Blister · 04/11/2022 09:11

There's a difference between hating the way you look and hating a growth on your body.

One is about a physical attribute and the other is a body image.

When our minds tell us things about our bodies, we should question if it is the body or the mind which needs to change or if at all any change is required before altering either one. Rash action would lead to actual damage of either the mind or the body or both.

RudsyFarmer · 04/11/2022 09:13

I thought most transwomen were keeping the penis anyhow? I don’t think the penis is the problem. It’s the accepting of everything else without argument that’s the issue.

IcakethereforeIam · 04/11/2022 09:21

I think they say that to invalidate women, they get the surgical holes to validate themselves. Cognitive dissonance is part of the faith.

KangarooKenny · 04/11/2022 09:23

You can have a penis and be a woman, so no need for expensive surgery etc on the NHS.

No, that's not it. Because the 'penis growth' can be removed without trying to make it look like a vagina. It needs to look like a vagina because women do have vaginas.

As the op says, it's number 2474 on the Big List of Unsound Argument.

I saw this a while ago and it's quite apt for this thread 😀

The logic would be laughable until it becomes a bunch of adults claiming their fully sexually functioning, fertile, bearded male bodies don’t need any form of medical adulteration to make them a woman but confused teenagers absolutely do as an imperative otherwise it’s a form of genocide.

The silence from the Alex Drummonds of the world failing to advocate for the fact children can grow up to be trans just like Alex without any medical treatments or surgery is despicable.

ReunitedThorns · 04/11/2022 10:50

The continual contradictions of the trans rights movement.

Trans rights was in a much better place when it was just transsexuals with medically diagnosed gender dysmorphia.

But since the nonsense of self-ID/genderfluid etc it's a mess.

For campaigners you don't need to transition to be the opposite sex, but to be on the safe side it's better to castrate and sterilise children.

I almost missed the trans bigotry post of the day ! You must have such a boring life

No i don't think I do - as an adult I've come to reject all the advertising trying to make me feel bad about my body and I'm happy as I am thanks.

Good job you spend your time checking for things you 'almost miss'.

100% true. The only thing you definitely need is the absence of any Y chromosomes 😄

Most if not all trans people have perfectly healthy, normally functioning bodies. The fact that they hate it, or want parts added or removed is a mental health issue, not a medical issue. Not the same as having a growth that doesn't belong on a healthy body, or very large breasts that cause back pain amongst other issues.

BeanieTeen · 04/11/2022 12:15

The fact that they hate it, or want parts added or removed is a mental health issue, not a medical issue.

What is the difference?

Deadringer · 04/11/2022 12:19

The difference is that instead of having parts removed or added to 'cure them' their condition should be treated with therapy to accept the normal, healthy body that they have?

Signalbox · 04/11/2022 12:20

And if I had a penis or even just a penis looking growth, I'd want it removed! Wouldn't you?

Lol if a woman had a penis like growth growing between her legs there’d be a very good medical reason to have it removed. The same cannot be said for a perfectly functioning penis on a person who was born with it.

Happylittlechicken · 04/11/2022 12:21

So @BeanieTeen would you send an anorexic to weight watchers or send them for liposuction ? If not, why would you agree that someone should have healthy body parts removed because they feel they are wrong?

Datun · 04/11/2022 12:23

BeanieTeen · 04/11/2022 12:15

What is the difference?

for one you treat the body and for the other you treat the mind.

Could you clarify a point please.

If a woman can have a penis, why does a transwoman need to have it removed to alleviate their feelings of gender dysmorphia?

Poor Datun. I wonder how she will sleep at night after being called a bigot by a anonymous troll on the internet.
