You don't need a vagina to be a woman

I agree with them. You don't need a vagina to be a woman...

So there's no need for the NHS to provide vaginoplasties and hormone blockers then. 😏 Right? I mean, it's their own argument.

I guess because some trans people hate the way they look and long to look the way they feel.

If you had a growth that you didn't like the look of, you'd want it removed even though it won't change who you are on the inside. Many women want their breasts rebuilt after a mastectomy or shave off their body hair, we all have something about our bodies we'd change. And if I had a penis or even just a penis looking growth, I'd want it removed! Wouldn't you?

What if the growth you didn't like were your toes? Or your ears? Would we not say those growths are part of having a perfectly normal, functioning body?

I saw this a while ago and it's quite apt for this thread 😀

So no need for corrective surgery for any reason is what you are saying?

lechiffre55 · 04/11/2022 13:29

Extending the argument that if you "want" or "identify as" something that the government ( taxpayers ) are required to provide it, why stop at one?
If a person goes from male to female why can't they demand two vaginas?
If a person goes from male to female why can't they choose how many breasts they get? 1,2,3,4, more? What about instead of two average sized breasts you want one giant one right in the middle? Why do they have to be on the chest? Why can't you have them on your back, or one under each arm?

While there's what's considered a usual number of bodily bits per person, that same "considered usual" also applies to males having penises and females having vaginas. Considering we are throwing that "considered usual" out of the window, why do we have to stick to the usual numbers of body parts and location?

Does a person who identifies as having 3 arms have the right to a third one?

I couldn't agree more.

Whilst it may be funny, this is what's going on with non-binary affirmation surgery (otherwise called nullification surgery). To affirm your identity they remove nipples and genitalia to match a form of human that doesn't exist in nature.

Hell no! If I'd been born with a penis I'd be out there living it up! Free from the trauma inflicted on me by men. Free from the maternity discrimination that fucked over my career.

A feeling, funnily enough, shared by the majority who self identify as transwomen today. Very few choose to remove their penis.

orbitalcrisis · 04/11/2022 13:54

@Deadringer Ok, so what about body hair, there's no reason to remove body hair. Public hair especially yet many women do it. It is about wanting to look a certain way.

And dirt. Lots of people wash because they want to look a certain way.

lechiffre55 · 04/11/2022 14:00

If someone gets two vaginas/penisis does it make them more of a woman/man than a person with only one?
Can genderfluid people get one of each so as their gender swaps they have the relevant kit all ready to rumble?
As stupid as my questions are they are equally as valid as believing you can "change" sex through surgery.
If I get a surgeon to construct what looks like a nose out of skin on my hand is it really a nose? What if I insist that it is? What if I'm offended that you don't think so? What if the law says that you must call it a nose and there's a policeman stood next to us waiting for you to misgender my hand nose?
Is it a nose, or just some skin shaped by a surgeon to resemble a nose?

As Magritte said in The Treachery of Images - 1929 "Ceci n'est pas une pipe"

You don't need a vagina to be a woman

If it isnt causing a health issue it shouldn't be removed on the NHS.

If you want it removed better to arrange a private review.

There was a thread about this story the other day:

reduxx.info/norwegian-man-now-identifies-as-a-disabled-woman-uses-wheelchair-almost-full-time/

Jørund Viktoria Alme is an able-bodied male who now identifies as a disabled woman. Apparently he always wished he had been born a woman who was paralysed from the waist down.

I'd like to ask our trans activist friends: is Jørund's desire to be a woman authentic - or is it sign of a mental disturbance? What about Jørund's desire to be disabled - authentic or a sign of mental disturbance? If one desire is authentic and the other not, why?

If Jørund went so far as to have an operation to render them paralysed from the waist down, would that be a legitimate use of medical resources? Would it allow Jørund to be Jørund's own authentic self? What about if Jørund had sex reassignment surgery?

Does Jørund have a clinical condition or not?

MeMe36 · 05/11/2022 07:29

Obsessing over gender is not the same as a lumpectomy.

OP posts:
MeMe36 · 05/11/2022 07:36

Or someone with a big nose who’s depressed and suicidal about how “ugly” they feel. Or same for small or uneven breasts. Too much body hair. Not enough body hair.

Is cosmetic surgery for these issues going to be addressed to the tax payer’s bill? And why not?

Why is trans anymore important than any of these other issues? All are elective for the body, yet emotionally upsetting.

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 05/11/2022 08:36

Trans rights was in a much better place when it was just transsexuals with medically diagnosed gender dysmorphia.

Even with the diagnosis of GD is up to the individual man to determine what it is about himself makes him a women. Surgery cross sex hormone or presentation has never been a requirement.

Women has always been what the individual man decades.

The fact that they hate it, or want parts added or removed is a mental health issue, not a medical issue.

What is the difference?

Mental health and physical health are both important.

I know you don't need beasts to be a women. But if, god forbid, I had to have mine cut off (breast cancer runs in the family), you can be sure I'd want reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy or I wouldn't feel like me and my mental health would be in the toilet, hindering my physical recovery.

Fairislefandango · 09/04/2023 17:57

The fact that they hate it, or want parts added or removed is a mental health issue, not a medical issue.

What is the difference?

So if someone 'identified' as one-legged, do you think a surgeon should agree to amputate their perfectly healthy leg? If someone is anorexic, do you think medical professionals should agree to give them liposuction or weight loss surgery? That should give you a clue about why the treatment for a mental health issue should be different from the treatment for a physical health issue.

Don't fucking compare my double mastectomy for a dude inverting his penis.

Mine was to actually save my life.

sunshinesupermum · 09/04/2023 18:27

You can have a penis and be a woman, so no need for expensive surgery etc on the NHS. I never knew this. Surely if you have a penis you are a male person not a female one?

Haven't you ever heard someone say 'transwomen are women'? These people believe that men are women if they say they are. So some men are women and most of those men have penises.
