Did she just assume the Cabinet's gender?!

Just shows how these issues are compartmentalize and used when advantageous, but rarely taken seriously. If she really has a problem with the definition of a women, she couldn't make this statement. If she is committed to women in visiable roles she would be able to identify what a women is.

If she doesnt believe that sex matters and believes a self identified gender identity is key to equality for women, she would have to ask each individual their self defined gender indenity before making such a comment.

Did she go and ask each privately?

Labour just works by quotas. If there is a quota to be filled then they will find the candidates but a different story when there is leadership election.

It never ceases to amaze me how everyone suddenly pretends that trans ideology doesn't exist when it suits them to identify biological sex and sexual orientation to score a point.

We see it on here all the time. Women being accused of homophobia by a poster who doesn't believe that sexual orientation exists.

I hope if she ever talks about trans ideology again, that statement will be pointed out to her.

I think that's quite astute.

It doesn't just apply to filling jobs either, it's how they seem to think about policy a lot of the time too. Now, anyway, I don't feel that has always been the case.

I agree that people should be allowed to change their minds. But I can see no evidence in this tweet that Dodds has done so. In fact crafting this tweet would have been a way for her to explicitly say she knew what a woman was and wonder where there are fewer biological women in the cabinet. The fact she has not said this is worrying.

I'd have more respect for Penny Mordant for example if she explained she had changed her mind on TWAW rather than just being confusing about what she meant by it and denying she was or every had been a cheerleader for the radical trans ideology.

i wonder if the penny will drop that until they adopt a logical position on men who role play as women, they can never make any kid of statement about sexism and be taken seriously?

I would love to see that Twitter thread as it would appear in an alternative universe where huge numbers of gender critical people weren't banned.

There needs to be an equivalent to the Godwin's Law - that anyone claiming that TWAW will eventually make it crystal clear that this belief requires simultaneously knowing and denying that a woman is female.

You can't even have a "matching" or "mismatching" gender and sex if there's nothing female about a woman.

Sort of mentality you get from Labour. First can’t tell who is or who isn’t a woman. Then must have quotas no matter what the ability or suitability. Absolute plonkers! If they ever get into government you know what to expect from the nutters.
