Woman raped in women’s refuge Canada

A known rapist identified as a woman to access a shelter in Ontario and raped a woman.
It’s reported by reduxx but will probably not even be reported by the mainstream press there.
It just goes against everything that they were originally set up for, which was to keep women safe.

It didn’t really happen because this never happens.
And if it did happen the offender wasn’t really trans.
But men don’t pretend to be trans to access women so it didn’t happen.
And if it did happen they can call the Police so there’s no problem.

And the woman and the shelter and the newspaper and anyone who argues it’s wrong are linked to the far right and/or fundamental Christian groups in the USA.

I think the bottom line one, which is when it's been irrevocably proven that yes this did happen, and yes this man was as true TW as anyone else because self ID is all it means -

that women left with the lifetime damage of rape are just acceptable collateral damage to make sure male TQ+ people's lives are happy ones.

No one is saying that transwomen shouldn't have access to rape and refuge services.

Just that it shod be separate to prevent things like this. Not everyone is nice and there are people who will do anything to get at vulnerable women.

Hopefully this person won't be sent to a female prison?

Over a decade ago I was in a refuge, a lifeline at the time I needed it most. The rules sadly state that males over the age of 12 are not allowed in shelters, this impacted a few other women there. I could go on about the gross injustice, those who experience domestic violence have to face, as well as being separated from their male children.

I could get bashed for what I'm going to say but this should never have been allowed to happen. If women are separated from their 12 years and above sons. Why are men who identify as women allowed into what should, essentially remain a women only safe place. There is and should be no grey areas with this one.

I doubt you will get anything but sympathy here on this thread.

My heart goes out to all those women who do have to be separated from their male children at such a time

Sadly the last line I suggested is the final typical line some activists will resort to when all other spurious nonsense is unpicked. I was rather grimly taking the piss out of that too. Particularly when that male lead insists that there are no complaints and no problems with this in any way, and it's a world of rainbows and happiness?

Except for in the article this week where the same person mentioned being distressed by hundreds of emails from people saying this was a really bad idea, and misgendering them about it. Which either did happen or didn't happen, depending on which interview you read. It's all rather confusing.

And when the same person explains the need for any female using the service they run to either bow to male centric compliance and the one true faith, or expect conversion therapy to be the price of aid and safety. But conversion therapy is Bad.

Or something.

Is there anyone on here from Canada? Is this story being discussed there? It'd be good to know if this story and the one about the person with the humungous fake breasts are helping to challenge the status quo.
