Just that, really.

Remember silence equals violence and if TRAs wish to remain silent on these awful comments, well...

Shakenotslurred · 16/10/2022 17:51

Exactly @ReunitedThorns youd think they’d be desperate to distance themselves from this horribleness

Emma Watson has paid a lovely tribute to him and she is in the last public photo of him too.

Yes, but not on twitter, right? Wonder why.

Vile behaviour but sadly expected from them. I've not once seen a nice comment from a TRA its always threats and insults and disgusting behaviour. RIP Robbie.

megosaurusrex · 16/10/2022 18:05

It's everything wrong with the world that people would wish someone dead just for having a fucking opinion that differs to theirs. Yet somehow they're the ones being "kind" and "tolerant" and anyone who disagrees, or is friends with someone who disagrees, is a bigot. They are utterly deluded and have hate-filled hearts. Hoping for a backlash against this bullshit, especially with mermaids being in the news recently.

NC30112021 · 16/10/2022 18:06

Emma Watson hasn't been very active on Twitter recently... maybe she's avoiding the toxicity.

JacquelinePot · 16/10/2022 18:14

Absolutely disgusting and completely predictable. But, both sides, amiright?

RIP Robbie Coltrane, such a great talent.

WomenShouldWinWomensSports · 16/10/2022 18:16

MargaritaPie · 16/10/2022 16:55

RIP Robbie Coltrane.

However it goes both ways, I've seen a lot of hateful and threatening comments on Twitter made towards people who call out JK Rowling. Fortunately Twitter seems to be good at dealing with abusers and suspending their accounts.

I’m confused. When has anyone GC ever cheered the death of a trans person or supporter of trans rights? Can you link? All I ever see is compassion towards anyone who has lost their life. For example when Dave Chapelle came out as “team TERF” and spoke about his dear trans friend who got hounded to death by TRAs in his recent Netflix special. I certainly never see aggressive death threats like I’ve seen from TRAs for anyone who doesn’t toe the party line.

Giggorata · 16/10/2022 18:26

There's clearly something wrong with people who think like this, let alone express it so freely in public.

AutumnCrow · 16/10/2022 18:40

I think the big yin Robbie might have loved a bit of Margarita Pracatan

Yes, maybe so.

I guess it's expecting way too much to think that she could distance herself from her fellow TRAs, but maybe when she gets back on twitter, she'll do that.

Good to see you taking a break from plugging the sex industry to support the transactivist cause of vilifying dead people who don’t agree with them, @MargaritaPie. So progressive! 👍

CousinKrispy · 16/10/2022 19:06

So awful. It really reflects badly on the whole trans ally community I'm afraid.

Death threats, rape threats, publishing someones address & attempting to destroy their career or income are not 'calling out' JKR.

There is no law that says JKR has to do what children on twitter who add nothing to society or GDP (both of which JKR has done & continues to do) say.

They have no right to the astonishing level of arrogance to think they have the right to direct someone elses opinions or beliefs.

Twitter are appalling at dealing with abusers of real women, it's only pretend ones they protect from the real world where nobody really believes you can change sex.

TheBiologyStupid · 16/10/2022 20:03

Disgusting, but sadly unsurprising. RIP, Robbie.

Smilelesstalkmore · 16/10/2022 20:20

Wouldn't expect anything less tbh.

Very interesting that Emma Watson didn't put her tribute on Twitter. Very interesting indeed. It's almost as if she doesn't want to acknowledge what would be staring her in the face if she had.

MargaritaPie · 17/10/2022 12:46

Maybe because EW knows how toxic Twitter is and she'd be bullied off it, just as Graham Norton was for saying "If you want to know about trans, talk to trans people and their families."

And if you want to know about women, what it feels like to be one, the spaces they use, and why they are asserting their rights to their their own privacy, talk to them. Easy.

Considering she's been named in almost every article as one of the foremost celebs supporting Mermaids as the Mermaids bin fire continues? And that she will have seen what happened to the lad who played Draco for trying to make a neutral statement and not shouting to burn the witch?

The poor woman is probably doing the only thing she can in staying off Twitter. As this incident around RC shows: this whole situation involves some very unwell, unstable and unpleasant people.

VestofAbsurdity · 17/10/2022 12:58

Shakenotslurred · 16/10/2022 17:40

Me too. The TRA are quick enough to say we are all in bed with the far right because of some people who agree on this one issue, so therefore I will say any transperson echo does not call this out is the same as these individuals.

Agree. Any transperson or ally who doesn't staunchly and unequivocally call this out I will deem as not only perfectly happy with it but also perfectly happy to be associated with and have these people speak for them.

Works both ways after all, eh @MargaritaPie ?

Ofcourseshecan · 17/10/2022 13:05

beastlyslumber · 16/10/2022 16:15

Great, can you just link me to any of the TRAs who are condemning this vile behaviour then? Thanks.

The clock ticks, night starts to fall, glaciers melt ….

Still waiting ….

Very telling that EW would be bullied off twitter for not condemning TRA behaviour. Of course we know who would be doing the bullying.

"And if you want to know about women, what it feels like to be one, the spaces they use, and why they are asserting their rights to their their own privacy, talk to them. Easy."

I believe most women do not hold a gender critical position.

TheBiologyStupid · 17/10/2022 18:42

How are you defining "women" there?

nilsmousehammer · 17/10/2022 18:47

MargaritaPie · 17/10/2022 18:39

You believe most women don't want rights and equality? Grin

I'd love to see your results post research on that one, naturally demonstrating drawing from wide sections of society and diverse populations of females, age, race, faith, that kind of characteristic. Or are we using 'most women' there to mean 'me and my small circle of mates' again?
