Oooolh, has JKR actually written for The Times (or any newspaper) before? I would certainly love to see more of this from her.

@Smilelesstalkmore
Not really relevant to this issue I know, but I have a vague memory of reading an article by JKR in the Times, probably some time in the 00s. I recall it was about the previous Tory government's demonisation of single mothers and how that affected her in the 90s.

Presumably she's now slightly baffled, like many of us, to find herself arguing for women's rights but this time vs a party on the other side of the political spectrum.

What about the kids?

I haven't actually googled this so don't know the answer.

What happens to a man's birth certificate when he changes it to be female sex? I mean the original one?

Also what happens with the birth certificate of any child he may have?

Does that also have to be updated?

Or does that poor child now have a birth certificate with name of father, where there is absolutely no trace of said person since they have changed sex?

Apologies if it's a silly question, but fathers (and mothers) changing sex impacts their children too but I am not sure that is given consideration.

Gender transitioning is one of the most selfish things a parent could ever do. As a parent you are not a totally independent individual. You cannot just do whatever you want for yourself. Your actions have huge impact upon your children.
