Tbh, I am surprised that the draft doesn't apply to men and women. In Israel, for example, it does.

Absolutely agree. Why is funny that someone is able to avoid the draft by saying they are a woman but it is fine for women to avoid the draft?

Not at TW being included in a military draft. Conscription is obviously pretty unpleasant for all concerned. But at the fact that the very people who will shout and scream and write into law that TWAW then turn around and say, oh, but not in this instance, when it suits us, thanks. Despite insisting that TWAW when they are destroying women's sports and attacking women prisoners in the female prison estate. Because obviously women don't matter to them.

This. Its like the exemptions from heredity laws for transmen in the UK. Without getting into conscription is right or wrong, the point is gender bollocks is only questioned when those in power stand to lose out. Vulnerable women being affected is not even worth considering.

I am GC and absolutely see the point and why this is a good thing from a legal perspective re sports etc.

However, the idea of conscription terrifies me and laughing at any group of people forced to be included in that just doesn't sit right with me.

It seems they have finally realised that they have created legislation and policy that pretty much hands out a "get out of the draft" card to any male who wants one.

It's either that TW are M for this situation or include females in the draft -- and there is no way the US public will accept females being included in the draft. No way on God's green earth. They try to push that one, and it's civil war time.

Although, interestingly, it could put a stop to US foreign interventionism. People may be prepared to send their sons to fight wars abroad, but they will not be prepared to send their daughters into a potential Vietnam mark 2, even if those daughters are solely in combat support roles.

But how is the Administration going to know just who are 'trans-women' and who are real women? If they are currently allowing men to change their M/F markers on official documentation?
Perhaps someone with some sense over there will finally realise that it is a really, really bad idea to let (and encourage) men to be able to falsify their basic records.
And they will have to stop pretending that these men are women. Because they are clearly not, when it comes to things that matter for the defence of the country.
And with Russia sabre-rattling, this is not just an academic issue.
