The first thread, towards the end of which there was a discussion about having a second thread but it wasn't added:

Mermaids being investigated by the charity commission

There's been a new development so maybe a second thread would be useful:

Lottery pauses trans charity cash during investigation

Link leads to the homepage.

Looks like they are actively deleting stuff right now.

Same for the staff and trustees list. Move along now, nothing to see here…

Stolen from KF thread on mermaids
“Seriously, how hard is it for men who work at childrens’ charities to just not post their dicks on the internet?”

Was just coming to post that! Ninja’d.

That Haus Magazine tweet of Darren's 'artistic collage' has been deleted in the last hour, shiiiiiiiiiit!

But the Internet remembers. The Internet has copies….. 😀😀

ResisterRex · 09/10/2022 16:58

Speaking of the internet remembering, anyone have a copy of this NSPCC/Mermaids link?

Waves at @Shakenotslurred
Im surprised that this thread has more info than the mango ranch.

Not having a dick, I sometimes forget how much that be-penised people like to show them off to strangers.

Shakenotslurred · 09/10/2022 17:11

Waves at @GingerPCatt I know right. For once they’re getting their info from here! It’s scary times. josh is slipping lol. 😂😂

I think this charity needs to be shut down with immediate effect and the police brought in.

This is appalling. Utterly heartbreaking. Those poor children.

IcakethereforeIam · 09/10/2022 17:21

I've just seen that collage on Glinner's substack. If he'd pixellated all the dicks (just the literal ones), it would have been several heads faces, with a bored expression, sport socks and, well, pixels (dixels?).

Well done contributors to this thread, I'm so impressed at what you've dug up.

TheClogLady · 09/10/2022 17:22

Dixels?

Maybe people should be tagging their MPs in a tweet with Dazza's artwork expressing their discontent.

Looks like he went to Goldsmiths

Ah, that makes sense. Goldsmiths, the voice of sanity. The HE institution that tweeted about sending GC women to a Gulag.

This is just one of Goldsmiths many greatest hits. There was also an academic abusing THEIR position (maybe several?) plastered across media a few years ago (need to dig out the story, hoping MNetters can remind me).

I don't have an mp. Well there was someone that people voted for but I don't think he knows where the city is.

I'm not sure many people even bother writing to him anymore.

Sorry off on a tangent - I might try one last time. But not really expecting anything because I don't really think he ever considers his constituents.

RedToothBrush · 09/10/2022 17:28

Given that the Mail were clearly searching for incriminating evidence on social media a couple of days ago, it's absolutely incredible that the dixels and insta only got deleted this afternoon.

There is a hell of a lot of arrogance and lack of awareness in how the Internet works going on here.

Mermaids clearly haven't thought to check up either.

Datun · 09/10/2022 17:30

Fantastic, Red. Submit that to Private Eye.

This just gets worse and worse.

You know that much quoted Hemingway quote about "it happened slowly, then all at once" - do you think it's going to be like that with Mermaids? We've all been talking about it for several years, gathering the evidence, writing on social media, sending emails to our MPs etc - and all it takes is that court case against the LGBA, a particularly diligent Telegraph journalist, some digging by people on Twitter, and then hey presto, the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. I hope so. I don't see how they can survive this, but I've been wrong before.

I don't think they actually see anything wrong with it. They don't respect boundaries so jts OK for them to do what they want without consequence.

There is TRAs defending some inappropriate images featuring a child and adult on Mermaids website this afternoon. I genuinely don't think they realise why people might find it disturbing and the gender of the child has nothing to do with our disgust.

But all of this has been in plain sight for a very long time. Not only does Mermaids needs shutting downs, heads need to roll elsewhere for signposting to Mermaids and allowing this behaviour.

This is a scandal of massive proportions due to how willingly its been encouraged by so many people on positions of power.

Handsoffmyrights · 09/10/2022 17:35

nauticant · 09/10/2022 17:25

Thanks - that's the one.

IcakethereforeIam · 09/10/2022 17:37

Wouldn't sending that type of image, unsolicited, potentially get you in trouble?

nilsmousehammer · 09/10/2022 17:42

MN safeguarding again.... to the point of some poor person following this thread to know where to look and what's inappropriate and going to be viewed as wholly unacceptable in order to make rather forlorn attempts to cover tracks.

It would be sad if there was any actual awareness of wrongdoing and a need to repair it. But there won't be. Just bitter resentment that meanies won't shut up and let a safeguarding disaster happen uninterrupted.
