What has Carolyn F allegedly done?
I haven't heard of her, but devices to be seized, it seems like it must be pretty serious crime, terrorism or dodgy images

..But upon reading Twitter, Carolyn says ''Women don't have {Aubergine emoji}''

IF it is to do with something like woman not having aubergines, {which they don't} the police have gone stark, staring bonkers.

Why aren't they getting involved with serious crime?

Probably because it's easier to arrest a woman in her own home than to deal with true criminals on the streets.

Seizing all that stuff and threatening a woman because someone typed something mean when she had evidence it couldn't have been her in the first place? ffs. And the police getting confused with emails and posts and things - they are not fit to practise.

This whole thing actually reminds me of savile and his "I know high up people in the police" grift if anyone said a bad word about him. Surely if in this case its true then that high up should be looked at very carefully. And if it's not true then you have to wonder just how stupid the police are. This is years long at this moment and plenty of documented evidence of who does the getting people arrested.

Even if Caro Is no saint (who the hell is) the best thing in this case would be to leave them both to their court cases and not get involved over a meme or cartoon that probably wasnt even posted by Caro. If anyone thinks that the issue is how nice someone is, you have spectacularly missed the point. I dgaf if anyone was to think I was batshit - doesn't have ANYTHING to do with how the police acted.

We should start a petition to parliament about how the police are being weaponised against women. It would be beneficial for everyone in the UK and all the police forces across the UK to know exactly what is legal and what isn't. And if they could reassert the punishments for malicious and vexatious complaints, that would be helpful for everyone involved.

Hi All.

As many of you know, Caroline is a dear friend of mine (yes, we're able to disagree on various things and maintain a friendship). We always suspected that something like this was going to happen because we (Adrian Yalland, her, me) are targeted by a deeply obsessive, abusive, man who thinks the police can be summoned upon demand. As for me, I've now taken reasonable and proportionate measures to prepare given that, unlike our abuser, I have various commitments and off-line people to protect.

I'm angry upon Caroline's behalf like everyone else, but I don't think she'll say how she's responding and she is responding entirely appropriately after what one man has put her and her family through.

Since I'm struggling not to use language that might see me banned I'll sign off and say I'm sure she really appreciates the support.

What makes her a "default heroine" is that she's been arrested and treated this way. That means that everyone who cares about women's rights needs to come to her defence. If you are willing to throw her under a bus, you are no friend to women.

She's a Catholic afaik. Not surprising she'd have many views I disagree with, but that's no reason for anyone to be arrested.

In fact the argument is that equality and access to police fair treatment under the law is rightfully conditional on the purity of your politics. If you have bad thoughts and beliefs then you should not expect equality or fair treatment.

Which is the viewpoint now being enforced by the police who are supposed to be impartial.

I don't care what views Farrow holds. I do not believe that policing and law should be governed by an extremist, partisan faith that is now essentially suppressing heretics. Morally that is beyond fucked.

The police are basically letting themselves be used as a mercenary service, free for hire to anyone who has a grudge against someone else. oh, but they are "just doing their job" "just following procedure"
