I don't think it needs said out loud but just in case, I hate homophobia, I'd disagree strongly with CF on a lot of (most?) things I'm sure.
But actually, yes we should be supporting her here.
If we don't, to me it would seem to be harmful to women in general yes.
This is a concern for every woman, regardless of beliefs and views.
Any of us, no matter our personal status could be arrested and treated like CF purely on someone else;s say so, for something someone else has said.
That's sheer insanity and extremely, extremely frightening.
Also if it is like you say that the working class women in general have no platform, privilege or voice and no one to stand up and speak on their behalf here on MN for example and there weren't any instances of situations like this where CF as a vocal middle class women uses her platform to point out the injustice she faced for being a woman (coz lets not get confused here, this is about her status as a woman and not for her absolutely dislikeable views on other things), women collectively would be silenced across the classes then wouldn't they?
No one would ever hear of stuff like this happening. The world at large would be unaware. So what good does that do anyone? None whatsoever.
The police are particularly scary these days.
I took the dog out for a last toilet walk up my street not too long ago and was driven by five times by a police car. The last two drive bys were done at increasingly slow crawl which I found intimidating and unnecessary. They must have been able to see I am a woman (cunty type) and if they thought I was suspicious for some reason, why wouldn't they stop and talk to me? Nope just a repeated, slow crawl by.
This is just another reminder, as if we needed one, that we now officially live in a dystopian feminist horror novel made reality.
