Long twitter thread here. She's had her electronic devices seized too, and has been accused of being certain posters on Kiwi Farms and Mumsnet

@BernardBlacksWineIceLolly and @BreakWindandFire sorry to tag you but she's been accused of being you!

We all know who this will be, but as Caroline says, please don't speculate/discuss them.

Putting the link in double sets of square brackets removes the MN site messing up the link:

Tonight @CF_Farrow joins Mark live on @GBNEWS at 8pm British Summer Time to tell her story...

I watched the interview, Mark Stein does not come across as a sympathetic interviewer, rather an individual with his own agenda i.e. "all police are bad". He repeatedly cut Caroline off mid sentence and missed some of the more salient points Caroline raised to push his own view of policing in the UK.

Caroline if you read this, your grace and poise in the face of what came over as hostile questioning was a sight to behold. God bless xx

Saying that men have penises?

Voicing the reality that humans don't change sex, I presume. Not being cowed enough so that you feel compelled to lie through your teeth about it. And, not being 'nice' and 'validating' about it all for those who are promoting this belief.

Having seen the abysmal figures wrt Surrey Police's efforts on child rape and sexual abuse, it appears to me they'd rather send a swat team to hammer down the door of a woman in front of her children without even having evidence she wrote the 'hurty words' being alleged.

Contrasting their performance for both of these, and sadly for women and children, it strikes me that Policing in Surrey must provide a very comfortable environment indeed for certain types of men.

nauticant · 04/10/2022 21:14

Yes AnotherDayAnotherView he came across as a dick having no engagement in the actual story in front of him. Still, it's a style of media I don't normally see and it's good for me to step outside my comfort zone and it's good for this story to be picked up by all kinds of different audiences.

ArabellaScott · 04/10/2022 21:22

Good to see Lisa Townsend is on it.

The site is accused of such things, not associated with. To be associated with, there would need to be some actual proof.

There is ample proof of kiwi farm's association with bullying vulnerable people to suicide (something it openly celebrates as its raison d'etre and at one point had a counter on its front page celebrating the number of suicides attributed to it), and its association with the christchurch mosque shooter, and its recent involvement in swatting incidents (for anyone who doesn't know "swatting" is where someone makes a fraudulent call to the police claiming there's an active shooter at an address they've doxxed in the hopes the police will overreact and shoot someone). There is no innocent reason to be posting on a site like that, it's one of the most vile places on the internet and Farrow will not be the only kiwifarms user under police investigation.

I do love it when kiwi farms viewers come and tell silly women not to read kiwi farms.

There are thankfully other individuals on the channel that are more in tune with people who do not behave in the same manner as Mark. It is useful to step out of one's "comfort zone" from time to time to access other opinions :)

The part which caught my eye was:

There is no innocent reason to be posting on a site like that, it's one of the most vile places on the internet and Farrow will not be the only kiwifarms user under police investigation

with its dual implication that firstly posting anything on that site means someone is guilty in some unspecified way and secondly that even in the absence of any illegality the police in the UK will go after you.

Knittingmonster · 04/10/2022 21:34

So how do all these people who hate KF know exactly how it works and what is on there? 🤔🤔🤔. They seem very knowledgeable. And very determined that we don’t go and look there. I do wonder why that is?

deepwatersolo · 04/10/2022 21:34

One could easily associate Twitter with the same things as Kiwifarm.
Who doesn’t remember the Twitter accounts of western ISIS members resettling in Raqqa and merrily chatting about food and beheadings.

nauticant · 04/10/2022 21:35

Ahh, but remember, it's more important for the police to be concerned about what you think than what you actually do.

Ladyof2022 · 04/10/2022 21:41

A couple of years ago a woman I'd never met began tweeting outrageous and damaging lies about me. She repeatedly, almost daily, falsely accused me of various things I had never done to her (or anyone). When challenged by others to provide screenshots or other evidence of my alleged actions, she ignored the requests but carried on posting the lies.

I called the police.

Two officers visited me at home and told me that they were not able to take any action against her. To prosecute her under the Malicious Communications Act, they said, she would have to be sending me unwanted messages direct to me, in PMs or by email, text, phone, etc. They agreed that her tweets definitely amounted to defamation, but told me that defamation is a civil, not a criminal offence, and so I would have to sue her privately in the High Court.
Why, then, are they arresting Caroline?

ScaryFaces · 04/10/2022 21:41

You don't have to look any further than Wikipedia to find proof that what I'm saying is true. The most basic google search will confirm everything I've said about kiwifarms is true. It's a well known far right troll site, its own stated purpose for existence is to bully vulnerable people to suicide. The site hosted material posted by the Christchurch mosque shooter who murdered 51 people. The site has recently been dropped by its host for being, a direct quote, "a threat to human life". Anyone who denies this is being willfully ignorant.

Quitelikeit · 04/10/2022 09:24

The police and the CPS have agreed the following definition for identifying and flagging hate crimes:

"Any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice, based on a person's disability or perceived disability; race or perceived race; or religion or perceived religion; or sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation or transgender identity or perceived transgender identity."

There is no legal definition of hostility so we use the everyday understanding of the word which includes ill-will, spite, contempt, prejudice, unfriendliness, antagonism, resentment and dislike.

On this basis, if I expressed ill-will or dislike towards someone for being a Scientologist or someone else for being a young earther, then I would be breaking the law? Even if it’s just dislike, no violence implied? That seems extreme.

nauticant · 04/10/2022 21:47

There's a long thread about Kiwi Farms elsewhere on MN but for anyone wanting a better idea of what went on rather than looking at Wikipedia, this is very informative:

www.blockedandreported.org/p/episode-131-who-is-stalking-the-twitch

Spoiler: the "a threat to human life" narrative was as a result of journalistic failure.

Sophoclesthefox · 04/10/2022 21:47

😬

I’m no expert but I suspect this may have been where you went wrong…

MrsMorton · 04/10/2022 21:48

@SnapeAlways i have sent you a dm on twitter. I appreciate you are busy. Thank you for popping into the thread.

I can vouch first hand for the "over-reach" police currently take whenever they can. More often than not, it's punching down but we are all down from someone so this affects all of us. Chilling.

Seriously. Wiki-fucking-pedia????????? And you think anyone with a modicum of a clue about anything should take anything you say as worthy of merit? Come the fuck on.

littlbrowndog · 04/10/2022 21:51

Cmon wiki is the fount of all knowledge 🤣😝

deepwatersolo · 04/10/2022 21:55

Whoever may have instigated this arrest of Farrow may have pinned a statement about the arrest on his or her Twitter feed, like a trophy.

This is sick.

nauticant · 04/10/2022 22:01

Wikipedia can be an excellent resource, so long as in using it you are aware of its limitations. I've used it for work to access highly technical information and it has been great.

However, as soon as you head into contentious areas, particularly having a political dimension, it can be worse than useless. Those contentious issues that trans activists are engaged in are often filled with misinformation with some of the assertions that can be found seemingly over the line in being libellous.
