Every single one of those movements had decided that a characteristic made someone 'not one of them', beneath them, and thereby dehumanised them, to the point that what happened to that person, no matter how evil and horrible and wrong, was not something to mind about . And that good people would not sympathise or care or be caught even showing concern about this.
