Cameron sounds absolutely charming. I wonder if the SNP will do anything?

Why do they keep putting such young people into very responsible jobs?

I do think these guys probably think it is normal to talk that way. Maybe not specifically to women, but to people who do not think the right things and are probably evil Tories.

I agree. He is not remotely qualified for the job except it seems he was the Equalities Officer at London Met Film School.
TQ is not the only characteristic to be protected by an Equalities minister. And why on earth would you make a student a minister of anything?

I am not sure what his gender expression or pronoun is by the way. No offence is intended if I have it wrong. In the video shouting ‘witch’ he looks like a woman, but in Linkedin profile photo a man.

Good news though Honeysuckle16, it is the party conference next week so you can ask why this

Lovelyricepudding · 29/09/2022 10:02

Posted too soon. You can ask why this individual was not removed and also ask the leadership to condemn threats made against Joanna Cherry. I am sure the other members and leadership would be pleased to clear up the delay.

Sonnex · 29/09/2022 10:06

Judging by his linkedin profile (pronouns he/they) he should be concentrating on finding a real job as contact tracer surely has little future? Like most early twenties something's, he should be trying to get a decent job. How do they have time to do these voluntary, nonsense jobs? And aren't they worried about their profiles? I wouldn't hire him based purley on the silly pronouns and unprofessional photo on LinkedIn. Many hiring managers are GC/women. I do wonder what they're teaching young people at university these days. Don't they get SM training?

Lovelyricepudding · 29/09/2022 10:13

I do wonder what they're teaching young people at university these days.

Wonder no longer - they teach gender ideology. That gender blasphemers must be burnt at the stake. That no one must challenge this ideology or exhibit critical thought. Challenge is unsafe and causes literal genocide.

He hasn’t been ‘hired’ by anyone. As I stated in my previous post, this is a voluntary position for the branch only. He would be proposed and seconded by other people who may not have known him out with him attending branch meetings.

Scrollingleaves, talk about Chinese whispers, he’s not the ‘minister’ of anything, nowhere near it. This is a voluntary, unpaid post, limited to the London branch who are likely to meet every 3 months or so. That’s it.

The media would like it to be much more but that’s the extent of the story.

CharlieParley · 29/09/2022 10:40

DdraigGoch · 29/09/2022 09:12

The only thing that surprises me about this is the revelation that the SNP has a London branch.

Same here.

I know. I didn't SAY he's 'been hired' by the SNP. It's clearly a voluntary (nonsense) post. His linkedin though profile says 'looking for work' so he's clearly trying to get hired into an actual paid role AS WELL. So I am querying why these types don't realise how damaging their SM posts are towards this aim as I, and nobody I know, would not hire anybody INTO A PAID role with a SM presence like his. Please read more carefully.

That must really help their graduate employability and % employed after 6m of graduation stats! 😂

Lovelyricepudding · 29/09/2022 10:59

Honeysuckle16 do you agree with Nicolas Sturgeon that women's concerns around self I'D at 'not valid' and that it was shameful of opposition MSPs to meet protestor who had concerns?

Do you agree that children should be taught that they can choose to be a boy or a girl and 4 year olds who tell the teacher they are the opposite sex should be immediately affirmed in that sex by the school?

Do you agree with the SNP leader in the commons that a sex pest should be supported over their victim?

Do you agree with the statement by the SNP minister at Holyrood that predatory men never pretend to be something they aren't? (And so follow's they knew the predatory men they have had as ministers or as advisors were predatory and saw no issue employing them)

Do you agree that the definition of woman should be whether they have a stereotypically female name on a gas bill?

Honeysuckle16 · 29/09/2022 15:18

Lovely rice pudding, I’m not sure why you appear to believe that I am accountable to you or need to answer your highly questionable points.

RufusthefIoraImissingreindeer · 29/09/2022 15:21

Blimey honey chill

She's asking questions...it happens on debate forums

waterwitch · 29/09/2022 15:46

Honeysuckle, you’ve said that it’s not acceptable to be, shall we say, disrespectful towards women in the SNP. Ricepudding has offered some known examples where the SNP has been very disrespectful towards women. She is offering you the chance to defend your POV. If you genuinely believe in your position, you’ll be happy to explain it, no?

While I am a member and supporter of the SNP, other members express their opinions and I am not responsible for responding to or explaining the context in which they happened.

I responded to this thread to clarify the mistaken points which were being made around this situation. It is interesting, however, that there have been so many attacks on what I think is a reasonable point of view.

The SNP is not perfect, however, it has for the last 14 years been the governing party in Scotland and attracts a large percentage of the votes. Despite its faults, it must be doing something right in the eyes of many Scottish people.

ArabellaScott · 29/09/2022 17:01

The SNP have been phenomenally successful over the past few years because roughly half of the country want independence.

If by 'successful' you mean votes rather than, say, ferries.

I wasn't just talking about 'other members' though was I? And by 'opinions' I presume you mean SNP government guidelines issued to all schools, and laws they pushed through parliament.

I honestly think SNP are going to throw independence for this issue. Which is mad.

KittenKong · 29/09/2022 20:18

Maybe they are now thinking that they aren’t ready/couldn’t make it work financially? So they are tanking it…

TwoWrightFeet · 29/09/2022 20:38

Why does Scotland keep voting for the SNP? Do women even have rights there?
