Not sure if it is today or next week. Do we know if this is open like the tribunals?

He maybe needs to define 'exclude'

chilling19 · 12/09/2022 11:26

nauticant · 12/09/2022 11:25

I think Roberts is using the word "exclude" in the sense of not thinking in a way that complies with approved thinking, rather than a refusal to allow participation.

Ah, yes I see.so the the argument is 'wrong think'

chilling19 · 12/09/2022 11:28

'Wrong think' is not a legal argument as far as I know. Unless we are in a society that does not allow any kind of free speech. Back to Maya and Allison.

FannyCann · 12/09/2022 11:30

Thanks for the running commentary, and thanks to Tribunal tweets too.
Wish I could be watching.
Some of the statements so far are making my head hurt. Confused

ImherewithBoudica · 12/09/2022 11:30

They don't 'exclude' in that sense.

I suspect the actual fact is that they represent on the grounds solely of homosexuality, based on sex.

They left Stonewall in order to do this, as Stonewall insisted that they no longer did this as it was exclusionary, and that anyone of any biology was any sex/gender they said they were, and it was wrong for gay people to take biological sex into account.

So the issue of Mermaids et al is that having left to meet the needs of the group whose needs were not being met by Stonewall was evil and wrong and exclusionary.

It's only because they represent on the basis of sex.

And that they don't want any organisation to be allowed to exist that solely represents homosexual people on the basis of biological sex. They want to control and prevent this happening and those people's wishes and needs being met for representation. Even though Stonewall is representing everyone else who is happy to stay with them.

It's the same dog in the manger stuff Sarah is fighting as in 'can I have a female only rape crisis service too as well as the many and multiple options serving all choices of TQ+ people?' and the answer being 'no, you must be unmet and abandoned as to meet your sex based need disgusts us and we cannot tolerate it existing even in a basement at the far end of the town during the hours of darkness'

It's slightly mad.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 12/09/2022 11:32

Hi, I’m struggling to get in as it’s asking me for a conference alias?

im new to this listening in/ watching and it shows!

Perfectly articulated, @ImherewithBoudica

‘So called’

DRINK!

chilling19 · 12/09/2022 11:33

Imhere, nauticant and everyone else: their argument is so out there, that I struggle to believe what I am hearing. Thank you for explaining it clearly. 😳

Madcats · 12/09/2022 11:33

I can see why they are having a 15 minute break after that; my head hurts (and I am just reading Tribunal tweets)

ArabellaScott · 12/09/2022 11:34

So we're back to the idea LGBA are 'excluding' a group by not representing them. In the exact same way the Canine Defense League exclude cats.

ArabellaScott · 12/09/2022 11:35

Sorry, Dog's Trust. I'm out of date. In so many ways.

nauticant · 12/09/2022 11:35

Hi, I’m struggling to get in as it’s asking me for a conference alias?

On the technical side you need to put in 3 pieces of information for browser access, the weblink, the conference ID, and the PIN code. The conference ID is an 8 digit number in the weblink and whether you need to put it in depends on how you enter the conference.

this

ImherewithBoudica · 12/09/2022 11:36

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 12/09/2022 11:36

this

Exactly.

And with several very large government funded charities meeting that group's needs.

ArabellaScott · 12/09/2022 11:37

'the view that someone with a female body attracted to men, is a heterosexual woman, that is inconsistent with the values of your organisations?'
'R - yes, that is inconsistent with our values.'

chilling19 · 12/09/2022 11:37

So LGBA's very existence threatens their ideology.

Thank you, I have a PIN code but not able to get to that section. I’ll go back and look again. I was sent a link which I c&p into the chrome browser .
But now I’ve got to walk up to DS’s school with his spectacles so I’ll try later. Thank goodness for this thread!

ArabellaScott · 12/09/2022 11:38

But another charity existing that has values that are different from Mermaid's isn't a blooming reason to try and exterminate said charity!

TheClitterati · 12/09/2022 11:38

thanks for the updates here - it seems lots of us still aren't in.

I tried connecting via phone & that didn't work either. So I called the "help" number.

Apparently they are having some "technical issues" which they are working very hard to resolve and we should be in "soon".

ug!

ArabellaScott · 12/09/2022 11:39

Most charities will have differing values. The aim isn't to try and force all other charities with different aims, values and objectives to NOT EXIST, surely? What kind of a weird charitable aim is that?

nauticant · 12/09/2022 11:40

If it's browser access, because the weblink contains the conference ID you don't need to input it separately, but if you're calling in by phone, you do.

Ditto, Clitterati.

I just spoke to to a lovely and very helpful lady, as i couldn't even dial in for just audio this time, like i did with Allison's tribunal.
I'm a bit miffed, i must confess.

Fenlandia · 12/09/2022 11:42

twitter.com/tribunaltweets/status/1569269578366066688

"AR - do you believe it is transphobic to say that someone with a female body cannot be a gay man?
R - yes, I agree."

Fcking hell! No matter how often I see this tripe on Twitter it's still shocking to have it said out loud in court.
