The fallout from this tweet last night was a sight to behold.

Well they say that, but I actually reported some of those messages last night and the "we want to let you know RandomArsehole hasn't broken our safety policy" messages are already trickling in.

Who thinks like that, let alone writes that vitriol down and presses post?

Some have called this out as the "Iron Rule of Woke Projection". Whatever they're ranting about happening to them is what they think should be happening to their opponents.

Well i think that a) even if you are a Republican it's not hard to keep your mouth buttoned for 24 hrs as a minimum b) if you are senior civil servant you swear an oath of loyalty to the Queen / King so understanding that voicing a Republican view is possibly a bloody stupid thing to do might not be terribly wise and actually just saying 'if you are a Republic, there's plenty of time for that debate in the weeks, months and years ahead so don't be a twat' is a sane tweet but it doesn't get enough clickbait.

As for the threats of violence. We look forward to the change of tact by OJ and his sympathy and support for JKR being his next topic of conversation as part of his condemnation of all threats for having different political views.

A cynic would however say Jones, is riding the clickbait train for his own self serving ego. Again.

Oh yes it definitely depends on who is being wished death upon, and who is doing the wishing as to whether twitter will actually do anything.

Appalling. Twitter needs to ban these accounts quickly. Violence against women and girls and death threats against JKR all seem to fall into to special Twitter category of absolutely fine go right ahead. It's awful

What does and doesn't get you banned on twitter:

No i think it's pretty clear. Men don't get banned. Women do.

I am planning to see my local MP about this in the autumn, when all has settled down with the new king and new pm. I think I will print out that side by side and ask him which he thinks should be classed as hateful and dangerous. I have a feeling he is one of those "toxic debate on both sides" people, and this is a pretty good rebuttal to that.

I’ve always assumed that accounts allowed to flagrantly break the rules are trolls deliberately planted by Twitter to stir up emotions.
