Not all Menstruators Menstruate

MauisLeftNipple · 07/09/2022 06:29

Seen on a FB group about reusable sanitary products, now renamed Sustainable Menstruators.

Admin is explaining how she has made the group more inclusive with the use of Menstruators, even if "not all menstruators bleed and not all menstruators menstruate."

I can't keep up. What the biscuit is a Menstruator when it's at home?

I thought the menstruator was a machine or an app.😱

ZeldaFighter · 07/09/2022 11:04

Women used to be reduced to "tits n ass" - no brain, heart or personality there.

Now we're to be reduced to things that you can't even see!

Why are we continually being reduced? Why is it being allowed?

I am a woman, like my mother, my grandmother's and all the other amazing women I am descended from. This is not a heritage I am prepared to lose.

BitOutOfPractice · 07/09/2022 11:05

Lovelyricepudding · 07/09/2022 10:31

Perhaps we could call people "heart owners" instead of people. Or would that be discriminating against Pritti Patel?

Why do people have to be offensive towards people they disagree with rather than their policies? No wonder we don't get better politicians. This the same as TRAs heaping abuse on Rosie Duffield or Joanna Cherry.

@Lovelyricepudding It was quite clearly a joke about her not having a heart. As in empathy, not the actual organ that pumps blood as that would quite clearly be ridiculous. A bit like conflating a lame bit of satire with TRAs.

And FWIW I absolutely do believe that Pritti Patel's AND her policies lack "heart" but that's not the issue here. I'm glad she's been consigned to the back benches. Just a shame that the quality of people that have replaced her is also so low.

I too have enjoyed a good laugh on this thread this morning, thank you. I’d be tempted to make this admin woman a project to be peaked, given there seem to be a few women joining in. What is she thinking. Can you post this thread?!

littlbrowndog · 07/09/2022 11:15

Bonkers

does the admin call her mum her daughter her aunties her grandma that name

who in real life believe any of this absolute brains fallen out stuff

DysonSphere · 07/09/2022 11:18

Rightsraptor · 07/09/2022 09:05

So sorry @DysonSphere ! It's really unpleasant but it is a thing, I assure you. There are bits of the Internet about menophilia if you wish to go hunting, but I suspect you may not and who could blame you? And they wonder why we don't want them in our toilets.

No, no I do not wish to go hunting. I'll take your word for it@Rightsraptor I need no further exposure I assure you. I'm still trying to put my brain back in my skull.

Jaxhog · 07/09/2022 11:20

Will woke never cease? Although I do like 'people with menstrual power'!

Fenlandia · 07/09/2022 11:21

The group is clearly trying to be inclusive of vampire victims. They still menstruate but good ol' Dracula has taken all their blood.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 07/09/2022 11:22

I don’t ‘own’ my uterus. It’s part of my body, like my kidneys and my liver and the little wart on my left hand. ‘Owning ‘ makes it sounds as if I have some choice in the matter, as if I could maybe sell it to someone and then they would be the rightful ‘ owner’.

ah. Right. I see now.

MauisLeftNipple · 07/09/2022 11:28

I couldn't post this thread, I'll be chucked out before I can leave!

Admin has "personally been doing education in this space for 18 years and always used the term menstruator as it speaks to the human body."

18 years ago I worked in a space with human bodies and no one used the term menstruator.

People with menstrual power was me paraphrasing 😂 I definitely Italy don't feel powerful when menstruating but perhaps it does actually give me a power that others want?

It's useful to know what brands are reliable and where to buy them from, who's having a sale etc. My daughter will need products soon and I have no idea what's good for a petite girl.

But not that useful that I will allow myself to be reduced to a Menstruator. Daughter and I will work it out I'm sure.

Lilets teen pads.
Job done!

MiauzenKatzenjammer · 07/09/2022 11:43

'menstrual powers'?

WTAF are they?!

Turning milk sour, making crops fail, that kind of thing.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 07/09/2022 12:16

If the trams lobby stopped confusing biology with identity this shit would go away.

Of course then men who want to say they are the same as women are clearly talking nonsense which is why they're rallying against it

To be clear TRAs , it's not women's jobs to pretend that we are something you can become in order to make you feel better. I wish you luck with your dysphoria issues but I will never accept being called a menstruation, uterus haver or any other such disrespectful language

NitroNine · 07/09/2022 13:38

Good. Grief.

Am actually unable to cope with all the part-possessing period powers (let alone idea of people just being along for the ride in the group in a way that doesn’t sound like Being Source Of Support & Info For Single Fathers) so just wanted to suggest ModiBodi RED for your daughter @MauisLeftNipple - they start at age 8-10 & are super comfy & soft. They’re expensive, but worth it. (Think the 8-10 is probably true to size, I wear the age 10-12, which is my usual size [well, most places do 11-12, but…] & they’re true to that. Oh & they let you try them for 30 days to see if they’re right for you so checking sizing/fit/feel is possible without ending up with a mountain of unsuitable knickers & a huge hole in your finances.) They do a bikini brief & a short style & there are a range of absorbencies, up to 24 hours. (Or not, if you flood, but for people whose periods are rather more orderly…)

Live4weekend · 07/09/2022 13:45

I thought it would be an eco friendly group.

Why do you encourage menstrators who don't menstrate (whoever that might be) to buy products that they have absolutely no need for ?

Notjusta · 07/09/2022 13:54

Do we start referring to people buying/using toilet roll as urinators and defecators?

Menstrual powers sounds like it needs to be rhymed with Mallory Towers in - perhaps in a Mallory Towers theme song.

Dreikanter · 07/09/2022 14:14

Choconut · 07/09/2022 08:26

Maybe she's seen a gap in the market? Menstruators that don't menstruate? She could call them men-struators, or just 'men' for short....

You wouldn’t get any repeat custom though as the product would never need to be used?

Unless … hmm, not sure I want to go there.

So, looks like agriculture in general.
Well, might come in handy one day, you never know.
I'll keep mine for now then.
These powers, that is.

Lovelyricepudding · 07/09/2022 09:48

It simply shows why we cannot give up women meaning adult human female where female is those with the body type that has large gametes.

Be kind let them call themselves woman, we can be females.
Be kind let them call themselves females, we can be menstuators.
Be kind let them call themselves menstuators, we can be cervix havers.
Be kind let the think they are cervix havers, we can be.....???

would it be easier if we gave up and let them have it and just call ourselves men

bellinisurge · 07/09/2022 15:48

We're non-men @elferian . Get it right. Know your place. And other ridiculous bullshit
