I thought the gender critical Vs transphobia thread was interesting. Why the deletion?

Someone said it was the 2nd thread…so maybe it was a thread about a thread

plus it was pretty goady

These days it seems it's hard to have a robust debate without buns flying and then thread pulled

The OP was goady but the last I looked the responses were pretty much.

That's a shame. There needs to be space for discussion even when views aren't equally agreed upon. I read some of that thread. I like hearing other opinions even if i don't agree, it aids my understanding of another's view point.

It's just so frustrating that good faith attempts at reasoned debate are shut down. Presumably because, (I hadn't checked the thread for an hour or so), because someone posted something in bad faith deliberately to get the thread taken down.

The quality of trolling hasn't exactly been tip top recently. Maybe the school holiday effect.

The thread about a couple transitioning their small sons and then detransitioning them was also suddenly deleted. It was new, and didn't really have time to devolve into anything, so I have no idea why the sudden deletion. I guess the monitors are really busy these days.

The deletion message for that thread says feel free to discuss the article but stay within the guidelines. I wonder if it was the very frequent use of a word that rhymes with exult that led to the deletion. A plopper had just arrived, so it's clearly on the monitors' radar.

The article itself uses the word that rhymes with exult though, so it's weird if it is out of bounds to use that word while discussing the article.

I thought that was a powerful thread - I'll repost the article as it's so important for parents on a parenting site to see. Uncomfortable yes, but poses some vital critical questions for parents to consider.

It was deleted for being goady / for trolling by a newcomer rather than what anyone posted. Bad faith posting also breaks the rules.

In the light of the deletion message, I started a new thread. It seems very important that parents should be allowed to read the experiences of this lesbian parent, even if we're not able to explore some of the related issues about the social transitioning of very young children.
