The Global Project Against Hate and Extremism today released a report profiling hateful and extremist groups in Ireland.

The report, Irish Far-right Hate and Extremist Groups, details 12 far-right groups in Ireland that GPAHE identifies as embracing beliefs and activities that demean, harass, and inspire violence against people based on their identity traits including race, religion, ethnicity, language, national or social origin, caste, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

I would like to register my continued horror at the rude, dismissive exclusive nature of The Global Project Against Hate and Extremism.

Why oh why in this modern era do we have to point out that exclusion is just plain wrong these days ? What on earth do they think they are doing focusing on Hate when there is so much more to lifes rich tapestry ? Where is the list for the "slightly put out and maybe we should ask them not to do it" list ?

I am part of several "That's just plain anti-social and down with that kind of thing" talking shops.

My neighbour is in a hardline "Not In MY backyard sunshine" group.

Yet the exclusive and hateful The Global Project Against Hate and Extremism has yet to even consider us or my neighbour who works so hard rallying others to his cause.

I've often wondered why the church are so quiet on trans issues. But then they lack moral authority as an institution despite having good ppl like Sr Stan or Fr McVerry.

Then the Conservative wing have no interest in women's or gays' rights. They probably think trans extremism is the work of the Holy Spirit. To teach us all a lesson.

The RC issued a teaching statement back 2019(?) on trans erong body etc which was it goes against creation as the will of god.

I suspect that the members of the other groups listed (assuming they all exist and are not just re-groupings of the same people meeting on different days of the week) would be horrified to find they're on a list alongside the LGB Alliance!

Good point. What happens if the GPAHE investigate themselves and find theyselves is actually a Hate Group?

Will we start our own Official MN Group to investigate and hold to account all groups expressing Slight Antipathy, General Ambivalence and the Lacking in Overall Enthusiasm? We could ask for our own board. To make it more Official.

What exactly is 'other'?
I see only the LGB Alliance has been accused of 'other'.

Did someone there say they don't like Kimberley biscuits or peg out their washing overnight with mismatched pegs or what?

Its catch22 can't go Anti-LGB so go with other.

They break their own guidelines by not listing the Irish LGBA.
They only list the founders of the UK organisation, using the events in British politics condeming it as "bad". Which demonstrates they have no understanding of Irish politics.
So by their own rules the organisation they condem is a UK organisation.

The majority of Ireland's schools are neither owned nor built by the State. Its public funds for private owned schools, so the Government can't impose a mixed sex policy for schools and it would be a brave politician who proposed to change planning laws attempting to force schools to change the existing school stock (retro law so not possible) to mixed sex toilets.
