I swear we had a mn thread about this- I remember discussing the quote "religion is the opium of the masses" for example.

There's a quote in this: "politics is the amphetamine of the masses too."

Looks at politics too.

She describes attending a Jeremy Corbyn rally that felt religious; I too experienced one accidentally that I also felt was akin to the second coming!

Thanks for sharing @WarriorN it was a great episode. Excellent points well made and I really noticed that this topic is being properly discussed on the BBC now, this gave me hope that the extreme bias on critical theories, queer theory and gender identity is shifting at last 🤞. Here’s to the opening up of genuine thoughtful analysis at last. 🥂

I really rate Helen Lewis. Sometimes I feel frustration at her deliberately treading a line between the two "camps" but assuming the time is coming when the public at large starts asking questions about what has been going on, I think at that point people like Lewis will be invaluable.
