This is true. The Daily Mail isn't doing what it does simply to support women, or to be Islamophobic, or for any disinterested reason. It does what it does to sell newspapers. It does this by scratching the itches of its readership. And sometimes by pouring itching powder on those itches. It will happily dissemble, prevaricate and mislead if needs be. It has a pragmatic approach to the truth.
The fact that it is currently supporting women's rights is a good thing, in the same way as its support for justice for Stephen Lawrence was a good thing. It's creating a lot of exposure. It has an enormous circulation. Let's use it.
