Well it's not often I'm speechless. This here is a bloke, complete with bald patch.

What about disabled people, are they "born in the wrong bodies" too? How does it work exactly?

That’s what I’ve been wondering too.
And all the other people who don’t like their bodies/ hate the way they look (specially when it’s something they can’t change at all or without surgery) what about them?

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/08/2022 18:09

Aja got banned from Twitter for stating that the player was a man, yet the man who threatened JKR over the weekend didn't. What a bloody farce

I haven't been able to find what age group the Junior league is for, but I did see that apparently they've been quoted in a interview saying they've been playing sports for 'over 30 years' so I think his age is definitely not '30'! It seems unlikely then they would qualify for the junior league so shouldn't be playing against young women anyway. They are playing for an LGBT team^ so if they are^ transgender presumably that's allowed? There is still the risk issue of someone bigger and stronger injuring other players though.

According to their youtube channel, they were born in 1984 so are either 37 or 38 now. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1MMFCexQM5_eqzqjT__iNA/about
so must've started playing rugby before the age of 8...

AFAIK the 'Junior' team in GAA is equivalent to a club's second team (not as good as the senior team) - a grading that's nothing to do with age. Once you've played competitively at senior level, you're not allowed to play at junior level. Some clubs have an intermediate level too.

I’m glad sports are very inclusive these days

And what about the women who'll be pushed out because of this? Because of safety concerns of not making the team. You're glad about that are you?

Perhaps you can enlighten us as to when TW weren't included in GAA? They've always been able to play.

So ultimately what you're glad about is fewer opportunities for women. Nice.

I’m glad yes no one is forcing them to compete and show up to any match

Who, the women?

yes, who cares if their sporting opportunities are limited. It's not like that matters right?

Also can you enlighten me as to how GAA wasn't inclusive before?

Maybe womens sport is important to women. Who knew?

Try listening to their pov instead of using misogynist language about them expressing their opinions. You might actually learn something beyond being a good handmaiden.

That doesn't link to an article written by JKR

NewBootsAndRanty · 15/08/2022 04:20

None of the links they've been enthusiastically posting all over the boards lead to anything except a really childish website..
They must have just been pasting the wrong link Smile

I'm left wondering how many more people (not here, but in the general population) would defend that person's inclusion in women's sport and women's changing rooms if the player donned a cheap wig. Perhaps they do off the field. Perhaps their friends assure them that they "pass".

Handsoffmyrights · 15/08/2022 08:32

Reminds me of Bunce.

FallOutPloy · 15/08/2022 09:16

But would a man be any more of a woman if he had a luxurious head of hair, or a finer nose, or a less heavy jawline? What if he spent an hour "contouring" every morning? What if he had lumps of silicone inserted under his pecs?

Wellies54 · 15/08/2022 10:42

Why is it so hard to understand that if biological males can compete in women's sport it is no longer women's sport, it is a unisex category for anyone who fancies joining in.

Wellies54 · 15/08/2022 10:45

And I 'm guessing if you asked most women whether they wanted to play unisex rugby they'd say no.
