Well it's not often I'm speechless. This here is a bloke, complete with bald patch.

To be fair to him, that hair does suggest low testosterone, so that’s definitely bringing him closer physiologically to a real woman than some other men doing the same.

TheSummerySilveryPussycat · 13/08/2022 00:37

Male pattern baldness goes with high testosterone, though, doesn't it?

I believe not, I think that that’s a claim made by some bald men that sort of ran away with itself.

Haply to be corrected if I’m wrong though.

For those that are thinking there's a mistake: here is Guilia in their role as "trans dyke" DJ Mav (I'm very sorry everyone!)

Gosh, that jarring side by side. maybe the whole campaign to get men to speak up got the perspectives all wrong.

They are speaking up. I'm just failing to recognise whatever it is they are trying to say. It's coated in acting out and entitlement!

DdraigGoch · 13/08/2022 08:17

Why would a 30 year old want to play with 16 year olds?

I know that you probably didn't intend it to be read this way, but I think that if I gave an honest answer to this question I'd be deleted.

KangarooKenny · 13/08/2022 08:19

I think I’m going to be 21 from now on.

35965a · 13/08/2022 08:21

Absurd.

It's clearly true that testosterone is relevant - that's why men lose hair and women don't. But within the male sex, testosterone probably isn't the deciding factor. (Much as it doesn't determine sporting performance within males).

While checking up on some Semenya-related stuff I came across the information that DHT is more directly linked to male hair loss. DHT blockers are marketed for that purpose. So Semenya having natural DHT deficiency may well be less likely to suffer from male baldness.

Messing with the endocrine system just to avoid hair loss seems a bit out there to me. But at least you're not doing it during vital development stages like puberty blockers, and it's adults making that decision...

I thought the person on the right was the male referee. People are born in the wrong bodies as anyone who has family or friends who have transitioned will know. But self ID means men can now be in close proximity to young girls and they are too afraid to say anything, or even feel uncomfortable in any way, in case as they are seen as not being kind or inclusive, that there is something wrong with them or they are bigots. The adults are similarly cowed because their teenage children ask them not to make a fuss for their sake.

Deliriumoftheendless · 14/08/2022 11:23

If you’re “born into the wrong body” does that mean there’s someone out there born into yours? Can you just get an exorcist to sort it out?

Cailleach1 · 14/08/2022 12:10

People are born in the wrong bodies as anyone who has family or friends who have transitioned [sic] will know

This puts me in mind of some similar sort of beliefs I encountered a good while ago. When visiting relatives, we were told of a neighbour who belonged to the 'Charismatic' movement. Seemingly 'S' (as I'll call him) went to a meeting, and lo and behold reportedly started speaking in tongues. He was filled with the holy spirit or something. My mother (who knew S), was somewhat sceptical of all this to put it mildly. She just asked if S was suddenly able to speak in Russian, German, Italian, French, Chinese, Maori etc. 'Oh, yes' came the reply. Look on my mother's face was precious.

Maybe S's family and friends believed (or wanted to believe) this event.

VestofAbsurdity · 14/08/2022 12:10

People are not born in the wrong bodies that is a ridiculous and nonsensical trope which has, quite rightly, been dismissed as such.

I just googled this person, and it looks like they are the dark-haired player, not the bald man. I think the Daily Fail is being a bit naughty. Not that I agree with male-bodied persons playing in female teams.

LOL at all the people desperately falling over themselves to ignore what's right in front of their face. It has been stated many times on this thread and others that the photo of the balding middle aged male is the person being referred to.

It seems to be the same old pattern - first, we are told this stuff never happens, so stop being hateful and bigoted.
Then when it does happen, and we point that out, we are told we are delusional, or making it up, or that it's not really a big deal, and to stop being hateful and bigoted. It's exhausting.

There are none so blind as those that will not see.

Good point, I hadn't thought of it this way: just need a sort of swap shop situation to sort the whole mess out...

What about disabled people, are they "born in the wrong bodies" too? How does it work exactly?

Cailleach1 · 14/08/2022 13:51

I've seen a comment that if you squint from a distance when you see them in the same shot, the female player is reminiscent of Kate and the other player is reminiscent of William. I don't think they are lookalikes but it is more the air of the woman with the long dark hair and the other person with the balding pate, i presume.

Maybe the people who are confused by this photo would wander up to William and ask him 'Are you Kate?'. Then go to Kate and ask her 'Are you William?'.

Abhannmor · 14/08/2022 16:01

Yes , @Cailleach1 . William and Kate may have been born in each others bodies!

Such a conundrum...

I was about to say the same thing

TheKeatingFive · 14/08/2022 16:55

So apparently it's now against guidelines to refer to surgery on healthy bodies as 'mutilation'. For everyone's information.

I hope we can still link to relevant articles:

Are we allowed to say the removal of testes and uterus is Sterilisation ?

TheKeatingFive · 14/08/2022 17:24

I'm not sure, I guess we'll find out!
